Hey guys, I'm replacing the hardware on my used Ibanez RG series guitar and I'm looking for a replacement floyd rose locking nut for the Wizard II style neck. Does anyone know the size of this locking nut? I'm guessing it's either 1 1/16"(43mm) or 1 5/8" (42mm) but I'm not sure. I'd really appreciate your help. Thank you! James

Yep, the lo pro and edge trems are very similar. And yes, the claw is pretty high. I don't want to unscrew it more than what's recommended .. so how far down can I unscrew it? Thanks, James

Hey everyone, I have a previously owned Ibanez RG520 guitar with an edge trem. I've found it really a pain when I have to change strings because the saddle/string lock screws are deep inside the trem cavity so it's nearly impossible to get a good angle to unscrew them with an allen wrench. I recently found this site with info on setting up Ibanez trems, here's the link .... http://www.jemsite.com/tech/t_1setup.htm If you scroll down past the lo pro trem diagram it has a picture of the edge trem system and it shows the string/saddle lock screws well above the trem cavity. Is this the way the edge trem system is supposed to be set up in an RG body? If so, then what can I do to get my trem to fit like that? I cant see how I could balance my trem system like that by just doing some minor string adjustments or changing string gauge. Btw, I'm using size 10 strings and my trem has 3 spring coils. Well, spending 200 bucks to have it refretted really isnt on option for me (my entire guitar was half that)... I just started playing a couple of months ago. I'm not very good yet and I dont have much expendable cash either, so I dont want to invest too much money in it right now. The second string has more wear than the third and it doesnt buzz at all.. so I think I'm going to try adjusting the bridge height a bit and maybe try using different gauge strings. I'm kinda nervous about refretting it myself because I'm not much of a craftsman .. I'd probably end up gauging the fretboard while removing one of the frets. Hey evryone, I have an RG520 guitar and the top three frets on my 3rd string buzz .. the frets have some wear so I assume that's the problem. I was wondering if most guitar players would refret their own guitars or if most take it to a shop to be refretted... How much does it usually cost to have a few frets replaced?.. and what it cost to have the whole neck refretted? I was also wondering if it's possible to fill a dimple in a fret using super glue, sauter, perhaps JB Weld glue? Thank you, James

Hey everyone, I was restringing my Ibanez RG guitar (with an edge trem) and I accidentally broke part of my trem's anchor screw. Ibanez parts can be pretty hard to find and expensive.. and it was only part of the screw's head that broke off so I'm hoping that I'll be able to glue it back together with the right kind of glue. I tried using crazy glue but that couldnt take the tension of an allen wrench. SO I was hoping someone here might know which glue works best for metal parts. I'd appreciate your help Thanks, James

Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone has heard of decal sets for guitars. I have a used RG320 guitar with a flat finish which doesn’t offer the body much protection if it's accidentally bumped or dropped. It has a couple of dents and a small chip from previous use and I recently added a scratch of my own on the back while removing a panel. I don't have much experience working on wood.. I’ve refinished a couple pieces of furniture in the past but they weren’t very expensive and I wasn’t too concerned with getting a really nice smooth finish. I don’t want to get in over my head by refinishing and end up with a completely crappy looking finish so I'm hoping I can find decal finish sets with a cool design. I've only found a couple of sites which sell them. Well, leaving well enough alone is no longer an option... one half of the peg broke off as I was trying to adjust it .... just my luck. So let me know any helpful info you guys have on different types of pots and replacing them. Thanks, James

Ahhh, I hate doing unecessary repairs.. but it's my own fault. I havent had my guitar for very long so excuse me if this question sounds stupid.. Will I need an Ibanez brand pot for my RG guitar? Or will just about any pot do? Also, are certain pots better than others? Thanks, James

Hello everyone... Um, I was replacing the tone and volume knobs on my Ibanez RG320 guitar. I put the new (skull) knobs on and I accidentally tightened the screw too much... the slit between the peg collapsed and the two sides came together.. I separated them and tried straightening it back up but I havent had much success getting it perfectly straight like before so it looks (and feels) like a flat tire wobbling when I turn it. I was hoping someone might give me tips on getting it straight like before.... I suppose the only thing lamer than a skull knob is a wobbling skull knob Thanks, James

Yep, I'm certain they're V7 and V8's, they're labelled as v7 and v8 right on top Um, I believe the RG320 originally came with them installed, but newer 320's now have powersound pickups... I'm assuming because powersound's sound better. Maybe your v7 and v8's have a nicer sound because your RG also has a single coil pick up.. but i'm just a newbie so I could be wrong. I have no complaints with the pickups under clean channel but the distortion sounds harsh and nasty when playing chords and have no warmth or personality whatsoever... they dont sound as bad when picking individual notes but they're still too trebbly even with the trebble way down. I dont believe my amp is the problem, I have a Fender Frontman 38w, my friend has plugged his srat squire into it and it had a really good distorted sound. I'm not going for a really specific sound or style of music so I'm looking for pick ups that are versatile and can be modified nicely with different pedals. Well, I really cant afford to spend too much right now especially since I'm just starting out.....a few people have suggested Kent Armstrongs as a good choice and not too expensive either so I'll have to put them on the top of my list and keep searching ebay. Thanks, for the suggestions. Um, I have tried adjusting the settings on my amp but that doesn't really help much... it's still too muddy and doesnt have enough warmth. If $40 wont get me much then what is the lowest I should expect to pay for a decent pair of humbuckers? So what about replacing only one humbucker? Is that a good idea? Thanks. James
