  1. Sorry, I know that this really doesn't even belong on the site, but I don't want to ask at the MX forums as they will make a deal about it. Anyway, the song is What It Is To Burn by Finch. I have the playing part of it down, but it doesn't quite sound right with the EQ settings i'm using. If anyone has/plays this song and can give me some good sounding EQ settings for it, I would be very thankful. My gear is a MArshall MG30DFX and an Epiphone SG special, if it matters.
  2. Yeah, guitarbuild.com has some good CAD drawings. Over on the In progress board, there is a topic where someone is making a PRS copy, and they made a very good drawing and measurements for that. I don't know about acustics.
  3. Also, if you want to build a neck thru SG, theres CAD drawings for a neck thru SG on www.guitarbuild.com.
  4. Looks pretty awesome...but shouldn't this be in In progress and finished works? and keep us posted how the progress.
  5. Wow, that's an awesome looking guitar. Very nice job.
  6. I was actually going to do what curtis said, and just route the pocket for the neck all the way down the body.
  7. So, istead of making the neck thru with wings, get the body as one solid piece, the just route a channel all the way down the middle of the body to lay the neck in? did I understand that right? And I've got my eye on some body wood on Ebay. It's mahog, two pieces together, but it's glued really well and you can't even tell.
  8. Ok, thanks. I hope it turns out as good as you think it will. I'll be sure to make a topic on the In Progress board when I start building.
  9. I sure will. Thanks, I just wanted to be sure that that design wouldn't mess up the tone or anything.
  10. Very nice lookin guitar man. Also, for a first, that is awesome. That guitar is just one you want to pick up and
  11. Ok, so I have great plans in my head for the first guitar I'm going to build (hopefully this summer if I can get the money). Its going to be an SG, either alder or mahogany, whichever I can get my hands on. And I want it to be a neck thru. And have a figured maple cap. Would this work, or would there be design conflicts?
  12. the way i did it was I set a pillow down on the body, so not to damage it, then i screwed the screws in a few turns, then I got a big flat blade screwdriver and pried. Not the safest method, but it work fine for me.
  13. My electric is named Chloe. and I actually named my amp too, because my girlfriend told me to. It's Autumn.
  14. I've seen Jag-stang plans somewhere, but I can't remember where. Google?
  15. I was thinking about making a neck thru SG, but would it be possible to put a top on it, like flame maple, for example? My dad has a good friend that can thinkness plane it for me, so I don't have to worry about that, I just didn't know if it was possible.
  16. Yeah, your posts are really good, you show how you do things very well, lots of help.
  17. Yeah, I wanna see what it looks like done. And Sandi1070 has some very nice wood. bookmatched flame maple top, under 10 bucks.
  18. Looking very good Myka, thats going to be an awesome guitar when its done.
  19. I actually used a finishing sander on mine, it got through the finish fairly quickly, and didn't mess up the wood. And I only used 4 things on sandpaper total.
  20. Yeah, they definatly look really good. Nice job man.
  21. Where do you order your wood from? I'm hopefully going to do my first guitar (a custom SG) over this summer, so I'm looking for wood.
  22. So, your going to buy a cheap SG from a pawn shop and take those c-chaped cuts of of the side? or your going to make your own body with those cuts? It might just be me, but wouldn't taking that much wood off change the tone?
