  1. HI, i just scored a brand new edge trem kit on ebay and the only thing missing is the trem arm. so far i only managed to find the arm in black, on ebay, ibanez store etc. If anyone has one lying around new or like new condition that is for sale then drop me a pm, but at a reasonable price. also looking for a retainer bar in cosmo black and the spring lock bar for the edge. thanks in advance...
  2. Got a little bit of work done today : made a routing template for the trem route and routed a little bit of the back of the existing cavity on my body. lion claw and sanding/stripping will be next. Happy new Year everybody !!!!!
  3. yes i will do them, but first i got to do some routing for the tremolo because my lopro copy i got is too big for the rout on the body, i need to remove some wood at the back of the cavity. thanks.
  4. i dont kno if its just the picture or me but that looks like a huge chip to the left of that cavity. i still love the idea of the neon yellow. i really need to do an rg to jem conversion.
  5. Well sort off, what you see in the upper left corner is actually part of the old jack cavity that has been plugged off, and there was like a reduce part that didnt get filled by the plug. i will fill this up before i shield and paint the cavity.
  6. I would love to see your pics !!! photobucket is free and its the easiest to use.
  7. Thanks for the tip i will surely use a gun, it sure feels hard just from drilling and working on it.....
  8. Heres a little update, output jack cavity is done but the ledge will be done when i will have the actual cover to make sure it fit perfectly, and the old jack has been plug. from what i see in the cavity it seems like basswood, im suspecting there is a strip of maple in this body, but ill find out real soon cause im gonna sand to bare wood sometime soon so well see about this....... Pickguard (mirror black) and truss rod cover(black) bought from evilbay yesterday so should come in very soon i hope. Some routing for the trem must be done and after the lion claw so a little bit of work still to do on this baby. another pic
  9. im wondering what is the wood of my rg body, i thought it was basswood until i started the grip, now im not really sure anymore, the weight of the body sure feels like basswood but look at the picture down below of the inside of the handle, looks like maple maybe! im by no means a wood expert so what do you guys think? thanks for looking....
  10. heres what i have in mind for the paint, its not shocking pink but shocking yellow, lol......
  11. First of all, happy holidays everyone. With the new year coming im starting a new project (even if the first one still not finished, LOL). Im gonna convert a rg body and build a neck to make a jem inspired from the 777 DY (desert yellow). i scored a beat up rg body and a birdseye pyramid fretboard and cosmo black tuner and a lopro copy in cosmo black. still need some part but will buy when times come. Started today by doing the monkey grip and jack output. : Ive followed the excellent tutorial made by brian, the only difference is i used fortsner bit instead of hole saw or wood bit and was able to make the cut in one pass, no need to turn around the body at midpoint and the hole are dead straight. Also made the output jack with the fortsner bit and press drill, i need to make the cavity and plug the old jack hole. Check out my album for more photo, more to come in the next days. ( friends photobucket password is swirls) photobucket

  13. hey hughes, those inlay are made from a white pickguard blank i have, they were all done by hand. as for the size i think i based miself from the stew-mac one i saw in their catalog. thx!!!
  14. well, i couldnt resist it today and hammered in the floyd post in the body, and put back the hardware on the neck and after put some string on. picture#2 picture#3 Even thought the fret dressing isnt done and the neck is not 100% totally set-up, i must say its definitely a ringer and seem to have lots of sustain. This was a test to see if the project was worth going further, now i know its worth it, lol !!!
  15. Hey, im glad you finally made it work !!!
