  1. ive sorted the mess out now. thanks for all your knowledge and advice you ignorant ****s.
  2. *bump* i guess im impatient! do you think that wiping off whatever i can until my white rag turns black, then sanding the wood may eliminate the residue? i'll have to wait till tomorrow to try that, but until then, has ANYONE got any knowledge they'd like to share on this?
  3. i tried rubbing on some of that wax and the rag i used is totally black! either this guitar is completley saturated and is never going to dry, or i'm just an impatient person has anyone ever tried using this dye?
  4. hi, ive been busy sanding down an Epi gothic LP and adding a few 'esp-esque' horn and waist contours, ive decided to do a faux ebony finish using black leather dye amd was wondering what type of wax could be used do finish it off (i can't be bothered with lacquering!) ive found a tin of meguiars mirror glaze (a fibreglass tool release wax) which i put straight onto bare wood squier strat with no harm done, but im worried as to rubbing this stuff onto a dyed wood may cause a bit of a kerfuffle ive heard about using 'black wax' on faux ebony finishes, but im still not sure. thanks for any help! Tony
