  1. ok thanks guys. i thought it would be worth a try to see what you guys thought.
  2. ok this isnt my friends but that same thing happen to this one. and this is what it should look like.
  3. yea i know what you mean. it would just be nice if the silverburst was actually silver, instead of green
  4. Thank you very very much Setch. i like your title "Sawdust generator"
  5. hi, my friend has a, i don't know 82, 83, gibson silverburst. well if any of you guys have seen one, unless it was taken care of really well. its kinda turns to a green-ish color. theres a piece of lacquor that got chiped off on the head and its silver underneath. so im guessing its the lacquor that has turned color over the years. i was just wondering if there was anything that could be done to get it silver again, short of stripping it and competely re-finishing it.
  6. hey setch i was just wondering if you forgot, or if you posted in another area. but i cant seem to find it so i guess maybe you just forgot. no biggie
  7. thanks setch! hey its no big hurry. i would wait for it to come out of the mimf library queue but i havnt seen any updates in almost 2 months, so i didnt know how long of a wait it would be. oh by the way setch would you happen to maybe have a audio clip of your chambered LP. im in the planning stages of building my lp and im trying to figure out if i want to chamber mine or not. ive tried finding an audio clip of a gibson LP supreme becuase they are chamber, but i havnt had any luck finding one.
  8. hey i was wondering if anyone might have saved Setch's post about his jig. or any pictures of it, or have made it yourself. i would really like to make one and try it out. i know his post about it in the mimf forums has been in the library queue for a very long time. ive email setch about it but he hasn't email me back yet. thanks for any help.
  9. well i have built a guitar before, and for me thats part of the fun, doing everything yourself.
  10. i guess stew mac has full size blue prints of a 50s LP i guess we could make templates off that just like guitarbuildingtemplates.com's and its only 12$ not 50$ http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Books,_plans/P...es.html#details
  11. i know you can buy some at guitarbuildtemplates.com but im trying to keep cost down. anyone know any place that has templates/drawings of a les paul. body/ neck/head/ all the good stuff?
  12. hey you said you got a "contour map (downloaded from the MIMF forum)", i couldnt find it. im starting to get things around to make a LP and would like to take a look at that. you do some really nice work, hope to see more pics!
  13. Sweet! looks good so far, hope to see more pics. keep up the good work.
  14. see the 1spot power only DC pedals (9v DC) i have a digittech whammy which uses 9V AC. so normal adapter like 1spot and the dunlop brick cant power it. so i was just looking for a way i could make one that could dasiy chain 9v DC pedal but also have like a normal wall outlet built into the box to power pedals such as my whammy that uses a 9v AC adapter.
  15. im wondering if anyone out there has made a pedal board power supply. or has any info that would help try to make one. cause see i have a digitech whammy which uses 9v AC , so it just more wires strung across the room cause i cant use normal pedal board power supplies.
  16. the bass, mid, and treble is for the pre-amp
  17. i was looking for router bits myself and grizzly has 1/4" shank 5.5mm router bits, which is the same as 7/32" for 4.95$ only difference is its a single flute where as stew mac is a double flute. they also have 1/2" pattern bit as cheap as 14.95
  18. Not much of a remodel, rounding over the corners. but just as a note. from the spec the Behringer delay only has a total of 1.3sec of delay where as the boss has a total of 3 sec. so they are prolly not gunna be as good or as adjustable as the boss pedals.
  19. does anyone know where i could get one of this style for 4 string basses here hipshots: as you can see here:
  20. thanks guys for the imput. ill keep all of that in mind for my next project. in the second pic the marks you see on the top is actually from the pick hitting the top when playing. i thought about grain filler, but as i said i modeled it after a wal and some times they just do two cost of hard acrylic, leaving the grain showing and giving it a more natural feel. so that why i tried it. im defently not gunna try and stain it like i did, again. on the back of the neck there was a nick and i put some filler in it, and i was hoping it wouldnt show so much, but it does. i have a question. how do you guys finish your necks? with lacquers, what? i lacquered mine but if feel kinda sticky i guess you would say. thanks again guys, Jay
  21. lol yep you got me, i modeled it after a wal
  22. this is my first project. it took me about 3 months to build. it turned out alot better than i thought, i hate to say it but i did gooff up on the dot as you can see, just a little tho it doesnt really bother me. body wood: swamp ash with a flamed maple top Neck wood: maple/mahogany/maple/mahogany/maple with a rosewood fingerboard it has bartolini Classic Bass Series Dual Coil Humbuckers washburn style with a volume/blend/tone/tone controls http://home.comcast.net/~cold95/bassguitar/IMG_0046.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~cold95/bassguitar/IMG_0047.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~cold95/bassguitar/IMG_0048.JPG on this one you can kinda see my control cover broke at the screw hole and i had to glue it back on http://home.comcast.net/~cold95/bassguitar/IMG_0049.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~cold95/bassguitar/IMG_0050.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~cold95/bassguitar/IMG_0051.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~cold95/bassguitar/IMG_0052.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~cold95/bassguitar/IMG_0055.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~cold95/bassguitar/IMG_0056.JPG here a test body i made out of a 2x6 http://home.comcast.net/~cold95/bassguitar/IMG_0057.JPG http://home.comcast.net/~cold95/bassguitar/IMG_0058.JPG heres 2 mahogany body blanks i just got for my next projects from www.brtguitars.com (great guys) very nice clean wood. if anyone needs wood go to them, great prices too! http://home.comcast.net/~cold95/bassguitar/IMG_0054.JPG plz tell me what you think.
