  1. When figuring out how deep to rout the neck pocket, i understand that the nut and bridge must be level, but what sort of action does it leave the guitar with? Is it ideal, too low so you have to raise the saddles, or too high so you have to lower the saddles? Thanks guys
  2. Due to a lack of funds i'm probably going to use a single humbucker for my first project and i was just wandering why a bridge pickup is so often used in solid body electric with only 1 pickup such as the junior epiphones? I've always thought the neck pickup is more widely used because of its warmer tone. Thanks
  3. Well i'm not planning to lock the nut since i'm either going to use a non trem strat style bridge or a tuneomatic with a stop tail. Would it be a good idea to change to a normal nut? Apart from the aesthetics are normal nuts superior in any way?
  4. I'm planning to use a 25 1/2" scale neck from an old ibanez though i'm not sure what model. Firstly the neck has a 41mm (1 5/8") nut, would this be compatible with a strat style non tremelo bridge? is it possible to make the guitar a 24 3/4" scale with a 25 1/2" neck by putting the bridge closer? Also the nut is a locking type, would it be possible/better to change this to a normal graphite/tusq nut? Thanks
