  1. I'm still drooling over that body carve. Great work so far.
  2. I like it. The bevel/carve looks cool too.
  3. I'm hoping the same. Also, that blue looks awesome.
  4. Racist. Kidding, of course. Anyway I'm liking this build... can't wait to see more of it done.
  5. That looks really cool, so I agree with leaving it clean like that.
  6. :O that is gorgeous. I am definitely jealous now that you get to own that bass. good work.
  7. Man, I wish I had to do a 'senior project' so I'd have a reason to build myself a guitar. Build looks good.
  8. Nice work, I like the looks of it. The body wood looks awesome... something about it. Just works haha. Good work.
  9. I like the stain. Question, though; is it 'standard procedure' to stain, sand back, and then stain again? The only reason I can think of why this is done is so there is a deeper color to the flame, but I'm not sure so I'd like to know. Thanks!
  10. This build is made out of win. Good work. And to be honest, your carve on the top looks better... has a better 'flow' than the other guitars posted. The others go too deep into the body.
  11. I like the looks of this build. Very clean, and very well done in general. Good work.
  12. I highly doubt that anybody remembers, but I posted a thread a loong time ago about my ovation cc24 (not the best guitar, I know). Anyway, the bridge was rattling, and I found out it was the bolts in the bridge that were making the rattling sounds. So, I fixed it today (why it took this long, I don't know), and I was wondering: Since the bridge appears to be glued on as well as bolted on, is it necessary to have the bolts in there as well? Or would the glue suffice? I know that the bolts would be in there for a reason, I guess, but I just wanted to check; If I could get rid of the problem with the bolts, then I would gladly do that haha.
  13. The walnut on the top is GORGEOUS. Fantastic work. And, as others have said, the initial drawing looked weird but seeing it done in pictures, it's looking awesome.
  14. Haha well I suppose right now I really wouldn't have the time for it either... I'm in college at the moment. But, I guess if I get a good job by the time summer comes around I could get the money and work on one with my pepere. We'll see though, when the time comes. I'll probably make a four or five string bass, I think.
  15. Man... I always see these pictures and read the stories of how people build these guitars and it makes me jealous because I want to be able to do that, but I don't the money for it. lol, well it's very good looking. I love that fingerboard, and the neck wood... well, all the wood, really, looks amazing. I can't wait to see the finished product.
  16. Ok that makes sense. Would it work if I did use the black dye though? Just because I do already have regular grain filler, so it would be easy if I could just use that. Yeah I know that, I just meant the black grain. The amber thing was my own idea. I think that if you dyed the pores black, then filled it, the filler would pretty much block out the black-ness of the pores themselves. Just my guess though, so don't take my word for it.
  17. I'll have to check that out when I get to painting. Thanks.
  18. If you have any access to a planer/jointer, etc... then why not just go buy some lumber and make a blank yourself? it'd be cheaper, and simpler.
  19. Well... I don't know anymore then haha. I tried shaking the bolts around and they were snug in there... GAH. I'd probably be better off getting a new acoustic. jk. if i can fix this then i'd do that.
  20. Lol. sounds like a job for another day. But i'll keep it in mind haha. I've got none of the tools to do that kind of stuff.
