ok im a little confused here. the standard bass scale is 34". now is that from the nut to the end of the fret board, or the nut to the top or the bottom of the bridge?

sweet guys, thanks!!! intill now i was told by someone on this fourms that emg's are the best. i guess now all i gotta do is shop around for the best prices. Anyone got some suggestion on that? thanks again

I'm new to all this, and i was just wondering what you guys all think of Bartolini bass pick ups. are they any good? or should i go with something else like EMG. and what about a pre-amp, is it needed?

soapbars huh. i cant seem to find anything about these. not even on the emg website. or is soapbars there nick names or something. can you give me some info on where to buy these or to get more info on them.

im just looking for some suggestion on some good bass pick ups. i dont care what the price is, i just want some good pick up for my new bass. also im looking for Tool type of sound, if that matter at all. thx
