  2. Because guitarist are too finicky to be nailed down to one preamp so we put them in to pedals
  3. Will it doesnt help that i have a dry sense of humor. Well its dry for a american any way. A lot of times i write something on here and delet it be cause i realize it will probably get taken the wrong way. Ansil it sounds like you have a hold on the situation. Ot also sounds like your wanting something a little hotter than a paf. If all else fails toss some emg's in there they sound ok in pretty much anything. I kinda think thats there downfall.
  4. Yeah it was a joke because of the angled pickups
  5. Huntindoug http://www.parableguitars.com/Roughnecks.html thers a few other members
  6. i think you routed your neck and bridge crooked. seriously i would do what Scott said or if you have something laying around that you can toss in there then you can figure out where your at and swap to something thats gonna sound good to you.
  7. as long as the science agrees with the voodoo its ok if it doesnt then its junk science.
  8. Ok i have no relevent info i just wantes to say i wasted the better part of a day watching rig rundown vids
  9. Paint the sides black (from binding down) with a burst on the back
  10. You can also ground your tail piece if your using one it may be easier Curtis i know emg tells you not to ground the bridge im not sure on any other actives
  11. Dont get me wrong i there hardware is fine. Just not on a customers guitar. The idea of getting hooled up with a boutique pickup winder is great it adds mental mojo to a guitar for your customer.
  12. Demonx has given you some sound advise. There have been a lot of guys come through here wanting to start a buisness who wernt ready. A sugestion from some one who has no business in this thread Drop the fender logoed stuff. Not that its bad stuff i think most of it is good. But there are too many companies producing to notch hardware that dont make guitars that would love you to put it on your stuff and say so. Fender might not like that.
  13. I just thought of this another thing they use on body shops arethe inferred heat lamps (think fast food) it would take some experimenting but after you spray you could set the guitar between lamps and just let it cook all night. Just make sure they arnt too close and over heat. Btw if your bulbs burn out and your too cheap to buy some and you ever go to "pinks all out" in shreveport la and you and your buddies all stay in the same hotel you can get them to rob the heat lamps out if there bathrooms.
  14. I dont know if a light bulb is a good idea. If you go to a properly set up body shop the lights in the booth and mixing room will be on the out side behind glass or ar sealed. The idea being a spark could ignight fumes. But they do heat the booths some how im not sure what kind of elemnts they use or how its set up
  15. one of these days im gonna break down and buy one.
  16. http://www.guitarfetish.com/NEW-XV-500-Carved-Top-Flamed-Maple-Tobacco-Sunburst_p_918.html i think if i was to go that rout i would drop another hundred and get one of these.
  17. For the best tone you have to use glue made by midgets in scotland
  18. Bobs post really made me think on the neck most people are more likely to buy a neck and build a body around that. Some thing that might be interesting is to buy a neck and show what is needed to do a scale change if its possible on that body
  19. a cool wiring scheme would be nice something cool but still usable. are you gonna try to fill the trem and try to keep the figured top?
  20. Well i was taught to heat the parts and then feeding the solder to them
