I wouldn't say a 100 watt amp is over kill by any means, it's just not what people think it is. Most people think (and it's easy to understand why) that double the wattage double the volume and thats not how it works. You shouldn't have any volume problems with the new rig.

A few things to chew on here It takes approximately 10x wattage to double the volume from a given driver. Currently your running 60w into a single 12 you would need to 600w to double your volume or 6w to half it. There are different classes of amps you will see class a, b, ab, d ect. This describes the basic circuitry in the amp and how it delivers power it's also why amps with the same wattage rating have different volume levels usually solid state amps arnt as loud as a tube amp. More speakers more volume. The easiest way to increase volume is add speakers. The average guitar speaker needs about 2 watts for it to start coloring the sound (usually a bad thing but for guitar speakers it's good). So 4x12 cab needs about 8 watts to start to sound good What I'm getting at is a 15 watt amp into your (I'm assuming) 4*12 should be plenty loud.

Active pickups are just pickups with built in preamps. With the emg guitar pickups you can run two batteries at 18v and get more boost if that is what you are wanting

I don't think stacked single coils are gonna get you there. I have run across a few companies claiming to have the sound of the originals but I haven't dropped the cash to see

Part of the deal with the magnets is that they are threaded and adjustable and it's a very expensive process to make a threaded magnet.

Some times in retail you have to eat one and make the customer happy (especially a good customer). A lose now could mean gains in the future. Then again sometimes it's best to cut one loose. The trick is figuring out which is which.

You might want to try one of the amp building forum. From what I'm seeing c11 is in the lower left corner. Of the brown board. That said it looks like it's wired in to something if so at some point in its past it may have been rewired to use the reverb tube as extra gain stages.

The TSA is useless it's been proven several times now that I'd you want to slip something into a airport it's not that hard.

They arnt mistakes, they are things to avoid next time. You are on the right track screw up on cheap wood first.

In the first pic it appears that the action is OK, and that your only complaint is that the strings sit too high off the body. If that is the case you will want to drop the term also, that or add neck angle but that won't get the strings much closer to the body where it counts.

The single coil is the motor the humbucker is just a pickup.

I wouldn't think there would be a need for a humbucker version I know they where some test using a coil and a pickup side by side that fit a humbucker mount but you couldn't sustain while using that pickup there was just too much feedback The humbucker pickup was developed to solve a problem as a motor I think it would cause problems
