  1. I never did, I dont finish any thing until the guitar is completely glued up, not including hardware. With some finishes you can even fret the guitar before finishing.
  2. Nice inlay, really looks great, looks like it took a lot of care and concentration.
  3. I have a build where the fender headstock is only 7/16 of inch thick, works fine with ibanez tuning machines. Made of walnut.
  4. not to be starting trouble but I will go with L2/R2, btw great looking wood
  5. I don't really know, but why not due a quick test on a piece of scrap?
  6. First, where are you getting laser engraving done? Second ideas -you could do roses intertwining down the fretboard and onto the headstock where you can have two flowers -just do thorns going down the fretboard -the ever redundant winged inlays -dots (a little boring) -finger prints -trees -tigers -wolves -any other cool animal -your signature when you can inlay anything you want pick something special to you, a favorite plant or animal, a loved ones name, anything that you feel is special. Look around your house and belongings and some ideas may come to you.
  7. wicked cool, if that design is original (which I hope it is) even more cool, looks great!
  8. That doesnt sound too thin, but you may end up with a wide and shallow carve of the neck. Some people like that anyways.
  9. As an owner of a squier bullet this post caught my eye, squiers have always been great beginner guitars, but end up sitting around when a more quality guitar is found. I use mine as a slide guitar but this may be an option. I have to say that is pretty darn cool, looks great!
  10. I know I recommend ebay alot, but belive it or not I have seen a few individual saddles there whilst looking for a whole bridge.
  11. Just a little planning issue, are there specfic poles that one should use to line up the p90 or should I just make sure it is centered?
  12. Looking at p90's and hearing a few samples I am about to faint. So much talk about them never thought it really applied (yes thats possible). Thanks for the advice. I also love the look of soapbars.
  13. I would say purple heart needs come kind of finish due to humidity, I cannot comment on u.v. My experiences with it show it to not be particularly oily but very splintery and prone to tearout.
  14. Now I have heard that browning of purple heart is from the reverse of uv, that if left in the sun it turns more purple. I am not really and expert though I have worked with it, fortunatly it came in the color I wanted.
