  8. Ok, I know that half the scale length is from nut to 12th fret. My question is, is it measured to the center of the 12th fret? bridge-side 12th fret bar?, nut-side 12th fret bar? Also, am I safe to guess that measuring the other way would be from the front of the saddles? Hope you can understand my question...thanks a bunch!

  11. so do you just use a drill for the first 1/2" or so? So then the bearing will line up with the edge of the template?
  12. I have not actually seen this set up or done, so I may be missing something very obvious, but my question is: When you set up your template and then rout it out, doesn't the router bit eat up the edge of the template? or do you just need to be that precise? or doesn't the cutting edge of the bit touch the inner edge of the template? also, how do you attach the template to the wood body?
  13. Is there some way to just re-surface them? Without worrying about color, because i'm thinking about painting a design that would cover them up. thanks!
  14. Is it possible to replace inlays that are all chipped and gouged up? If so, how do i go about doing that?
  15. Drill and chisel...if you're serious please explain (sorry I don't know much about this stuff yet) any other methods besides renting a router?
  16. Hi, check out this link and tell me if this will work for all my body cavity routing (pickups, neck, bridge, etc). dremel It's the first router guide on the page. I already have the dremel tool. Thanks!
  17. i was thinking of purchasing a neck for real cheap, but it is real dirty and grimy. How easy is it to fix up? It doesn't seem too hard, or is it? Frets themselves are great, but the back of the neck and the fingerboard need work... just sand it down?
  18. Hi - I'm sorry if this has already been discussed, but I just joined the forum 2 seconds ago... I was wondering if it is a good or bad idea to hand paint a design say with oils or acrylics and then apply a clear coat over the top for protection. What should I know before I attempt this?
