  1. GOOD CALL ON DJANGO REINHARDT! Mine are (again, no order) - Steve Vai - John Petrucci (Dream Theater) - Django Reinhardt - Andres Segovia - Yngwie Malmsteen - Adam Jones (Tool) - Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) - James Murphey (Testament) - Marty Friedman (Megadeth) - Newest Edition: John Pizzarelli
  2. Can anyone PLEASE give me a good comparison between 50's and 60's style necks for les paul guitars? i understand that the 50's style is thicker and the 60's style is slimmer. but i'd like to actually see the comparison, but can't find a single referance online... any help will be welcome... thanx.
  3. thanx for all your help guys. i hope everything works out... i'll let you know September 16th
  4. i thought about that... thanx actually my biggest fear is not the guitar getting destroyed (insured) its getting it back with just a little cracking on the flamed top man that would SUCK!!!!!!!
  5. the problem with DHL is- CUSTOMS!!! they suck! im giving him a bunch of hebrew stickers to put on the case so he can tell customs he left the country with it... if they charge you in customs you hav to pay nearly 100%!!! (including tax, customs and fine) that would suck so bad...
  6. i guess i can buy one with a lock (some of the cases ive seen come with combination locks)
  7. My Dad's getting me a Gibson LP Standard in August in Canada. I live in Israel and my dads flying back from Vancouver via London . He was planing on taking it as a carry on (soft case packed with styrofoam and whatnot) but the airline told him he may not be allowed. My question is: if he buys a hardshell case and stuffes it with clothes\packing material, will it be safe (or relatively safe) to put it in the cargo hold? does anyone have experiance with this? BTW- i'ts insured, so if something happens to it- airline pays up... but i'd rather just get it in one piece, if you know what i mean

  9. Ill post some pics tomorrow.. i talked with the primo guitar guru in Israel and he said hell take a look at it. he said that if he cant glue it ill need to replace- but he cant get an original ibanez- i said "as long as its good quality, i dont care" since theres hardly anything original left in this guitar as it is- new pups, new paint job- its slowly becoming a custom instrument.
  10. how do i contact them? i cant find an e-mail address
  11. i think i'ts a "super wizard"- i'ts the standard on these guitars (i think) i'll post some pics later. is there a way to order it from the factory direct?
  12. My Guitar Neck cracked! THIS SUCKS! Can anyone recommend a good online resource to buy a new neck (i live in israel) I'll be in Vancouver in August, any place i can use there? i'm willing to go to seattle if i have to. PLEASE! any advice will help
  13. thanx brian!!! that was very informative... BTW: how do you recommend buffing? anything special? do you use turtle wax and stuff? i have some guitar research polish at home. will it do or should i use some other products too?
  14. it's gonna be off white color with big black lettering... but i have to remove all the paint because its badly chipped in a lot of places and the wood is showing... DAMN- i went to the hardware store today and the guy there knew NOTHING... im going crazy! let me run this by you fokes: ill sand it with various grits (40, 150, 200 etc...) put some primer on it (does the color matter? cuz i only found grey primer) paint it (hopefully spray paint) spray a couple of coats of vinear (gloss type) does that sound right? PS: if i sand between coats of vinear, wont that make it matte? will it retain clarity?
  15. excuse my ignorance but: "Key up the surface and prime it" what the heck does that mean (i know what priming is, but what is keying?)
