  1. that back wood looks great! i've always loved your guitars, and this one is no different...great looking axe...i'd love to be the one recieving.
  2. oh man, haha that was you? that was a good day in gcom history. by the way, PM me if you ever want to talk to some of them folk again, we've got a forum set up that most of us post at.
  3. ya might want to rethink that name... cool looking guitars on both parts. never been one for pointy or ridiculous guitars, but both are done very well...nice and out there, but not too extreme.
  4. just a word of caution...watch out for sellers that are in hong kong and thailand, china etc...a lot of them are just scams that send the picture, and keep your money.
  5. not only would that guitar be incredibly expensive and heavy, it'd be incredibly bright.
  6. wow...that's a very nice looking guitar you've got there. i love the maple runners down the fretboard, and the back of the neck looks amazing. good job.
  7. haha, that's pretty slick...sounds decent too...very cool little project.
  8. haha, that's actually pretty slick...looks cool too
  9. i dont know how handy you are with a needle and thread, but you could get some nice fabric and put a bit of cotton padding underneath, sew it all nice and pretty like, and have a cushy, nice looking, durable pad.
  10. so i've guy a guitar that came stock with a single volume control and a coil tap, but i want to add in a tone pot, while keeping the coil tap and the volume pot, and i dont want to drill an extra hole. i've already got a push-pull dual function pot, as well as just a standard pot, but i have no idea how to wire this thing up. can someone provide a diagram for me? the pickups that are in there are a 4 conductor humbucker at the bridge, and a single coil at the neck. your help is appreciated.
  11. man, that thing looks amazing. the maple binding with the ebony fretboard...well...i think i need a new pair of pants. the whole guitar looks amazing...and i'd also love to hear some clips.
  12. are you going to be doing a bolt on, or how are you going to leave the adjustment for the truss at the bottom of the neck?
  13. yeah, gibsons definately have a one piece neck with the angle carved into it. yes, they're more likely to break, but as long as you're not stupid about it, the neck is going to be fine... anyways...good luck on the build...hope it comes out nice. and gemm...propagandhi...nice...
  14. get some paint stripper. it shouldn't damage the wood on the fretboard, so you should be fine.
  15. my alvarez 12 string has one trussrod, so i'd assume it'd be just fine for the 9 string...
  16. i like the grain and finish of your first one better, but damn, that's a nice looking guitar. not usually one for purples, but it's a very nice shade.
  17. looking beaufitul man...i really like that top...
  18. is the meu mustang going to be carved, like a real mustang, or just have the white accents painted on? if you do carve out the middle and have the scoop...good luck keeping the paint in any sort of condition while playing. otherwise...very cool. i like the look of the spalted one(at least, what i can see of it). not so much a fan of the mustang, but i still think both will look good.
  19. *ehhem* red special...did you guys not catch that one? anyways, nice work..looks very nice, and i'm sure it plays great too.
  20. to be honest, i think if you did the same cutaways on either side, but lowered the treble side horn aboud 1/4-1/2 an inch to just offset them a little bit, it'd look awesome. also, i'd make the pickup rings either both rectangular, or move the bridge pickup and make the curve on the bottom of the bridge one too...with one with the wave, and one reverse, it just doesn't look right.
  21. not a kit per-se, but everything you need(including precut wood) can be found at http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bodies,_necks,_wood.html also, i just want to say, this is an awesome idea, and a great way to bond with your son.
  22. wow...that looks beautiful. the only thing i think that would make it look nicer, is just clearcoated the natural wood. i think that would look amazing. as it is, the black is very nice looking.
  23. yeah, the one on the right looks too much like the violin bass. the one on the left looks to me like an ESP eclipse, save the horn a tiny bit...
  24. myka, all i can say is damn. that is a beautiful guitar...and i thought it looked amazing before it was all polished. that's just a stunning guitar. maybe one day i can create something that beautiful.
