I concur. I think all RG's have the neck pocket cut all the way through the pickup cavity, at least the 24 fret ones.

Having to refinish the neck after replacing the fretboard is a good point that I hadn't thought of. I was concerned that pulling the frets and sanding the fretboard would be problematic because of the inlays. Not sure how luthiers do it.

Say I wanted to change the radius on a neck. Is it just a matter of removing the old fretboard and replacing it with a new one that has the desired radius?

I agree, but I can't find a 14" or 15" nut. I think Schaller makes a 14" and FR makes a 15" but I haven't found any.

yeah...I figured filing could create more problems than it's worth. I was looking at either a straight 14", a compund 12"-16", or a straight 16" Can't really decide what to do about the nut though.

The neck would be a straight 16". I've actually got an Ibanez nut, but I'm concerned about the width. It's 430mm radius, but is 42mm wide. They also make 43mm wide nuts, neither of which are "exactly" 1 11/16". Would 15" (OFR) be better or 16.9" (IBZ) Thoughts? Thanks.

I'm planning a Warmoth that I want to put an OFR on. I'm getting a 16" radius neck and am trying to figure what my options are for the locking nut and bridge. I know that I can shim the bridge to get the radius right. But I don't know wabout the nut. I looks like FR makes a 15" radius nut, but I haven't found any anywhere. Any thoughts? Thanks.
