thanks for the advice! I would very much like to either make up a PRS type guitar or perhaps a les paul single cut and make a full body metal plate to be fixed ontop with hand engraving. thats the plan anyway

are there any distributors of grizzly guitar kits in the UK? i have seen some saga kits available in the UK, but no grizzlys as yet.

in my opinion there arent many new good guitarists who can make the guitar sound special (e.g. that guy from the darkness can play, but he is really a cover artist for brian may, there is nothing original about it). There are certain guitarists that leave such a big impression on people like Jimi Hendrix because he was so experimental and nothing like that was ever heard before. Satriani invented a new twiddly widdly show off, big headed guitarist style, i dont like the guy but he has got many kids playing guitar again. It doesnt matter who influences you, So what if you know a load of no-name guitarists, does that mean that you taste is better than anyone elses, no it doesnt.

Try simon & patrick solid top acoustic guitars dont get laminated tops, because as they age, they get worse. Solid tops improve with age

Would you say something like a fender princeton 65 would serve better? Its not tube but its pretty loud for its size

if you want a tele, it would be cheaper to buy a tele saga kit and start from there

unfortunately im in the UK, so engravers (like gun engravers) are hard to find. I suppose the lack of guns means a lack of engravers. does anyone know any cheap engraves in the UK (preferably in the west midlands),that would be great. i also agree that alot of oldfield recent work is close to elevator music (mainly tres lunas). The remastered tubular bells entitled Tubular Bells 2003 is absolutely excellent, such good sound quality. In my opinion he is a fantastic guitarist who is underrated, but you will never justify it i suppose seeing as all people remember is the piano riff to the exorcist .
