  1. OMG....... I can't believe it. There are no words to describe how much this sucks...
  2. Hey all. I have just aquired a Korg EXP-2 foot pedal and have found it to be quite useless to me. Is there a relativly easy way of turning it into a wah pedal? Would be a good little project for me. I have found a few schematics at GGG, but I'd still like to get someones opinion. Cheers
  3. Ah Cheers all. I'm starting to wrap my head around it now. The grounding info was most useful as well. Now I have to worry about finding parts for the "Ruby". I remember a while ago when "Benno" was asking about the same thing, someone gave him a Bill Of Materials with Dick Smith part numbers etc, for the "Little Gem" (when he was planning to build it into a guitar). If someone could whip that up for me for the "Ruby" that would be really helpful! Would save me a few hours in DS trying to figure out what i need. If not, no worries. Thanks, I'll be sure to ask if i have a problem.
  4. With reguards to the guitar jack In & Out, would the out work as a headphone jack?
  5. First of all I am new to electronics. I thought it would be a good little hobby to get into to help pass the time. It isn't working out that way. I have been trying to wrap my head around the designs for the "Little Gem", "Little Gem MKII", and "Ruby" LM386 guitar amps, but it's all going right over my head. What I want IS: to make a guitar amplifier into a cigarette box, that has guitar jack In & Out, a small speaker, and a headphone jack. All i can ever find is schematics for the circuitry and nothing on how to turn that into what i want. The "Little Gem" appears to have only a guitar jack input, and a headphone jack output. The "Little Gem MKII" appears to have a speaker but not a headphone jack output. And The "Ruby" appears only to have guitar jacks In & Out, and nothing else. Near as i can tell, what I'm looking for is a mixture of these three amps. Is there something I'm not getting here. I'm really confused. For eg, I look at this pic below of the ruby and all i see is circuitry (Which i understand) but nothing about where all those fkn wires are going to. I found all these designs at http://runoffgroove.com/littlegem.html & http://runoffgroove.com/ruby.html I didnt wanna bother anyone here with this as i wanted to figure it all out myself, but i'm totally lost. Any help woudl be greatly appreciated......Ansil, lovekraft?
  6. I've been researching them myself recently as i'm thinking about buying a Kramer Striker FR-422S. (http://www.musicyo.com/product_specs.asp?pf_id=509) This guitar comes with Quad Rail pickups. I'm not 100% on how they work exactly on this guitar. Something to do with pulling a knob in and out to change between 4 coils and 2 coils (or something). Anyway i didnt have much luck researching Quad rails. But i have played them on this guitar and they sounded pretty nice to me. Definately designed with distortion in mind, not so much for blues etc. I suggest you research this guitar a bit, and you mite find a little here and there about Quad Rails. Hope that helped...
  7. Cheers lovekraft. Just what i was looking for.
  8. Yeah I'm sure your right. I just have limited experience with electronics, so a project like this with everything spelled out for me would be a good start. This is really my attempt to get myself more interested in electronics... and i'd rather make a guitar amp than buy a kit to make something useless like an electronic weather gauge or some ****. Maybe a basic FX pedal or something mite do the trick.
  9. Hey all Does anyone know where i could find schematics / instructions for bulding a cigarette box amplifier? You can buy these professionaly made (Smokey Amps) but i really wanna make my own. Would be a great beginner project for me. Cheers
