  1. Well I could rent a planer for a day and just take 1/2" off and glue on the walnut, It would look good. Ill think on it
  2. Well I was tinking about making it a hallow body with a black walnut top Ive had laying around. it may be a fun idea, but my Planer is down and I need to level the blood wood to get a tight glue up. So I may just try and build as it is
  3. Ok so Iv got my hands on some blood wood and I went ahead and cut out a body blank just to see what I could make of it, and man this stuff is heavy I was hoping that after cuting the blank out that it would lose some weight but WOW I just dont know if I can even use this one, Ill post pics today when Im at the shop Ive also started a wenge body and a zebrawood body Both heavy but not to bad, All the bodies are my Supper Strat design
  4. Ok so I felt like giveing these guys another chance after reading this thread. So I picked up a copy of Death Magnetic for 15.00 bucks and I gota say that Im still not a big fan of there new style, BUT what is cool is that the tunes where good and the life seems to have come back in to the band a bit. So not for me but still cool that they can keep on with it and still be a kick ass band for the kids these days
  5. Oh sorry I should have said something, that neck is not for this guitar its off another build I was just useing it for looks
  6. Yep I just used a chamfer bit and A router, just make sure that the sides of the guitar are nice and clean and and dont try to take to much off at one time just make a few small passes untill you get it to where you want it
  7. Ok so I have some extra time after doing a few repairs, so I tossed on some PAINKILLER and went nuts This is what got http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo34/RAZARGUITARS/005.jpg http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo34/RAZARGUITARS/006.jpg Dont expect much on this build I have alot templates to finish and a ton of other builds, this was just some extra fun
  8. Hey MiKro I would have voted for your build if mine had more that 4 votes Great Work again from every body
  9. So perry do you ever use kahler Trems? I really think these supper strats would look great with that trem
  10. Ok so Ive got the belly cut done and the Bevels on either side of the neck are done, Ive also router the pickup, Pics soon
  11. Ok so I will be adding a neck pickup and a a black bevel, I really do thing that will bring more out of this guitar but it wount be for a while I have 6 other builds on the go and a ton of repair work to do before I can play around with this one
  12. Im really geting in to these guitars!! I just got templates for the explorer style body and Im really looking forward to building them, This and That 8 string you just posted are some of my favs man, Good stuff
  13. I did a flat radius on my 8 string and I really do like how it feels and Plays to the point that Ill be doing most of my builds like that from now on. I say give it a go
  14. Ya I know, and thats why Im in love with that neck of yours
  15. Its not that I dont like it I just see that same maple toped guitar all over the place, The design is great and I think that you could do some great stuff with some cool woods. Maple is just sooooo over done to me I want to see something New
  16. I think theres not enough wood on the one side to keep the neck from moving to one side, if you have not mounted the bridge yet you could rerout further back in to the body to give your self more wood on the one side, or just set the neck in place with the best fit and clamp in place and drill your mounting holes and screw it down, you should be fine. its hard to tell with out a better shot of the other side
  17. That body is nice but it really is nothing to me, I see that kind of thing all the time, What I really really love is your neck. it really is one of the coolest ive seen. Ive liked your work since the start and now comeing back to the forum and seeing what you have been up to now blows my mind Very good work Man very "top shelf" keep it up
  18. I could add a deeper bevel maybe but the horn is thin as it is and I can reach all the frets just fine, But ill play around with it a bit more.
  19. Its really not bad at all, BUT I am thinking about cuting off the spike and 25th fret and doing a neck pickup
  20. http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo34/RA.../Picture029.jpg http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo34/RA.../Picture036.jpg The Back of the guitar http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo34/RA.../Picture041.jpg http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo34/RA.../Picture040.jpg http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo34/RA.../Picture039.jpg Ok Im off to drill out the tuneing pegs and work on the neck profile
  21. Ok On to the next one!! Ive started work on this one today, I did have one problem so far! the truss rod rout tore out a bit and I had to clean it up and because of this the nut acess rout is over sized. not really a problem but not what I wanted, Oh well Pics soon
  22. Im Not a big fan of the headstock, it seems to smallish for that design and it could flow a bit more with the body. I do love the body design man Very cool, I cant wait to see it finished
