  1. If its pics you want its pics you shall recieve. All the metal on it is aluminmum besides the bars which are hardened steel i believe. The router holder is a 3/4 inch piece of aluminmum with a hold cut right in the center of it and then the front is cut with a wing nut and bolt going through it to tighten and hold the router. Reason why i made the router so i could move it up and down is just incase i need the bit to be long the then stylus. Stylus hold is also a piece of aluminum with a wing nut and bolt so i could move that up and down as well. The rod is 16mm rod, with pillow blocks. Here are pics, if there is a pick of something you want that i missed just let me know, id be happy to share how i built this thing. And btw myka, thanks for paving the way :D

  2. Welp ive been away from the board for a few months and have been doing other things. However this last weekend my father and I finished up my Duplicarver table we had in the works. This table is based on Mika's desing with some mods done to it. First off i didnt have money buy the big thick bars, so we made it as light as possible but as sturdy as possible. And let me be the first to tell you this thing s great. It balences perfect (dont remember who was the first one to use a brick to couter balence the router but your a genius.) Second, i built this thing so i could do complete duplicates. I think mika mainly made is for doing tops. I haven't got to play with it too much cause its been freezing outside, but the testing will come this weekend im sure. Its pitch black outside so i cant get any good pics tomarrow but i will post tomarrow.

  3. I always "drill" a very small hole with my exacto knife before I drill. It makes the drill bit follow the hole and gives you perfectly spaced dots.

For precision work, always use brad point or forstner bits.

    :D

id use a press and a fence

I did use a fence and all other dots came out fine except this one :D

Now, I think I could fix this by drilling slightly bigger (2.5mm) holes over the existing dots (2mm) but the problem is, where am I going to find 2.5mm diameter plastic rods. Even if I do find them, am I just asking for more trouble doing that?

    Excellent quality pearl.

If you re-drill, drill very slow to ensure the drill bit doesn't wander and use a brad point bit.

I bought from that guy. He is a very cool guy and has good product.
