  1. Hello everyone, Problem solved....I removed the capacitor from circuit and now everything works fine!! Thanks for all the help bruno
  2. Hi thanks for the reply, the capacitor is .047, it came with the guitar. I see your point on soldering, it really is dificult to get a decent solder joint, but it seems ok, I will try to remove the cap first to see if this is the problem and then I will do as you say. Thanks bruno
  3. Hi, it really helps, yesterday I was thinking of doing that thing you say by connect one pickup at the time or/and remove the capacitor! I think I´m very wrong in concept about the tone cap, I will remove it first and see the result. Thanks for all the replys
  4. Hi, thanks for the reply, I edited the drawing, I forgot to draw the ground in the pot sleeve and pot casing. Well, I only connected to the ground the bridge pot, the others I didn´t cause I think it will effect the volume of the pots, in my mind I have that if i connect all the pots (ground like this: wire to the ground each pot or wire between pots and then to the ground ), the volumes will function (wrong) as a main and not single for each pickup. Later in the wiring all grounds connect themselves, maybe the problem it´s that they meet in the end of the wiring....but I think that, for ground, in the end or begining ist the same.... I know I can be very wrong about this ground matter... Hope e could explain it good... Thanks
  5. Hi there, here´s the wiring diagram, hi tried to be as accurate as possible: This is just a "exploring guitar idea".... it doesn´t have a pickup selector, the idea is to cut the pickup with the volume, as for the tone, there isn´t a pot for it, just wired directly into the the main wiring (maybe this is the problem...) Please don´t get me wrong, I´m just trying to do something different for me.. Many thanks for the replys
  6. Ok I will draw it, but I don´t know how to post it in the forum.. Thanks for your reply!
  7. Hi, I got a strat and I wanted to change some things in it, so I came with something simple: only the 3 strat pickups and volumes for each one. So I wired them like this, each pickup to a volume pot, then I connected all hots to the jack. The problem was that theres no sound from the guitar when I plug it in, pickups all work fine, it should be the wiring. PS - For the tone, I wired the capacitor directly into the main hot and ground wire before the jack. Anyone already used this kind of wiring?? I need some help wiring this simple...thing.. Thanks
  8. Hello there, I bought a Bartolini 3av pickup to put in my acoustic guitar but I can´t get sound from it. I wired it to a vol pot and a tone pot and the jack and couldn´t get aa signal. The amp is ok and the wiring seems ok to me (its not my first guitar wiring), also I check the pickup with a meter and it look like the wire as ok. Can anyone tell me some info in how to wire properly this pickup? or its damage and its better to buy a new one? Many thanks for your time bRUNO
  9. What does this mean? Sorry for the long absent. Position 4 is neck and bridge turned off, but with a bypass. This wiring is for 2 humbuckers, but the guitar as 3 hum, so that the 4 position turns off 2 pickups leaving 1 on. this can be achieved with on/off switches, but I want to cut some switches if possible. many thanks for the replys! bruno
  10. Hi!! I got to humbuckers that I want to wire in a 4 way switch like this: 1.Neck 2.Neck and Bridge (Series) 3.Bridge 4.Both off with bypass Can someone help me in this?? I draw wirings but then I can´t wire them... Many thanks bruno
  11. i found a few ones in ebay, very cool!!! by the way, i have wiring prob, it´s not related to the topic, but its like this: ok, its a stereo cable to be used with a 3pdt switch, in position 1 - its stereo and position 2 - 2 mono, how do i wire this?? it should be easy but my mind can´t figure it out example .......... ________________ stereo ________________ stereo ......... _______________ mono stereo ________________ mono oh, i forgot to tell, the 3rd pole is to instal a led, the 3pdt is that fultone switch that stewmac sell, i´m building also a box to change signal into 2 amps hope its clear!! many thanks for all the help
  12. hi!! hummm, I see your point, thanks! But 3p3t would by like on/on/on, i think the right is 3pdt fo on/on and 3 poles many thanks!!!!! now the thing is how to find it:) and to wire it
  13. hi, in my guitar circuit i come up with a normal situation of 3 on/on switches, they have to work all at the same time in diferent circuit , meaning (ex.on1/on2) that all on1 and all on2, for diferent circuit i have to use 3 switches!! so i have, 3 switches=3 "toggles", and want 3 switches= 1 "toggle"...any ideas??? i come up with this: glue 3 jaguar slide switch, cut a little of 2 slides and manage to glue the 3 slides so that it can work with 1 slide. weard... Ps - toggle=slide=.... hope you get the idea, if not reply and i will try to explain a little better many thanks bRUNO
  14. hummm!!! ok no problem, but how do i wire it??? sorry to keep bothering you!!! bruno
  15. hi, lovekraft, i saw it, but now how do i get the hots from both pickups in split ways, like i putted in the drawing!! its for that stereo/mono circuits!! mono in series parallel and stereo in off position!! but i think i can´t get this wiring!! the hots will always be in contact!! thanks bruno
  16. HI, again!!! here I am with new questions.....sorry guys!! me dumb!!! How do i wire a switch in order to get series/off/ parallel!! But, in position 2(off), get the 2 hot wires from both pickups!!!! In this wirins we have 2 wires before and 1 after, in any of 3 positions, but i want 2 wires after! one of the hot (normal) is in all positions and the second only work in position 2 (off) With a draw is better to explain, but i don´t know how to post it position 1 ___series___series____ 1 wire position 2 ____________________ 2 wire with no touch between them ###### ____________________ position 3 _______parallel_______ 1 wire ######### /__parallel__/ note: (#####) just to put the lines forwards, not for the drawing Got the idea??? so what should i do??? Is it possible?? Thanks bruno
  17. okok!! I see the problem with the higher frets, the buzz, of course maybe scalloping is the best way!!! But also wider frets... yes i think this is a better way for me!!!! less chances to ruin my fingerboard I have to explore this "wider" way!!! thanks bRUNO
  18. Hi, I´m building a guitar and ocurred to me a in putting speed frets in the first 12 for a fast fingerboard, and in the last ones a bitter higher for better bending!!!! What do you think of this??? my regards bRUNO
  19. Thanks lovekraft, I was looking to find a way to put less switches in the guitar, and after my post I was thinking and acurred to me in dual stacked pots!! it will work ok! Also the idea of Dugz Ink in puting a pot that's piggybacked with a push/pull switch, is cool (thanks)! Hey, Dugz Ink, nice "trick"!!! many thanks to you all (maybe soon I will be here again asking new questions ) bRUNO
  20. hi, again!! Sorry to insist, but, in the wiring diagram that lovekraft posted, the pickups are linked to output seperatly (stereo), so for volume it must be 2 vol pots, one for bridge and other for neck!! or it can work with 1 master volume pot, like this it won´t link both pickups before he reaches the stereo output??? my regards, and sorry for all questions bRUNO
  21. Hey thanks guys excelent!!!!!! ok, now i got my head clearer!! Hey look at this wiring on a mosrite stereo 350, its similar i think : mosrite stereo 350 hope i put it right it is used that switch, and 2 jacks, monos i think! perhaps there were no stereo jack at that time so they used 2 monos many thaks again
  22. First, thanks for all answers!!!! I heard about stereo guitars (like bb king lucille, i think) and start looking, and i saw wiring diagrams for a stereo jack, a mosrite stereo 350 with 2 jacks (don´t know if it is 2 monos or 1 mono and 1 stereo) and later the rickenbacker!! so I got a little bite confiused! I´m building one guitar and i´m thinking in putting the in stereo way, but i don´t know if i should drill 2 holes or 1 But imagine that i can wire it stereo with 1 stereo jack and it work normaly, would it work also with the mono cable, amp....??? You may be thinking "this guy don´t know what he want´s", but what i´m really looking for is for the guitar work in both ways. IF POSSIBLE, of course!! bRUNO
  23. Hi, is there someone who could explain to me how to wire a guitar for stereo sound! do i need 1 stereo jack only?? 2 mono?? 1 stereo and 1 mono?? How do i wire them?? if you can inclue a diagram, it would be easyer to me many thanks bruno
  24. hi, thanks for the riplies Hi get the idea!!! many thanks
  25. Hello!!! I´m making a guitar and i´m going to chose the potenciometers and capacitors!! My question on potenciometers is: which are the efects on volume and tone (250k, 300k, 500, 1M)?? I´m using a HSS setup! In the capacitors: which tones they produce? One more: will i get advantage on putting a 500k on the humbucker and 250 on coils seperatly or use the same pot for the 3 pickups??? Many thaks for all replies bruno
