    Well that sounds like fun! I'm thinking i'll have to try one on my next project. Though that'll prolly start in early fall cause i don't think i'll have any money till then! Thanks for the info and i hope they're as good as it makes them sound! -Colin

    I was wondering if a deep red transparent rub-on compound would be a good finish. I used some on my ruger 10/22 and my shotguns' stocks and i love the color and how it looks. Is this common? have people done it? i don't want to mess something up but i think if i did like 7-8 coats it'd look killer! I just got my saga kit yesterday and i'd like to start it asap!!!     How long should you let wood dry? this has got me in the mood to go find some junk woods of all kinds and waste my time seeing how well they work for guitars! I think it'd be cool to make a guitar out of a tree that i cut down (or used wood from at least). Thanks, Colin

    I thought elm is a hard wood, like what they use for barns and such, i think it'd be worth a try if nothing else, good pratice or you can cut some off send to me and i'll try -Colin

    Plywood!? damnit, i was told it wasn't and that's why i bought it. Oh well i guess, as long as it plays i'm happy I also heard that if there's no number on the back neckplate that it's an american made guitar, is that true? Thanks for the input! Colin PS if i bought a strat body would all the parts swap right in?

    It's not the best only because i could only afford something to play, and i really wanted an ele. Within a few months i'll prolly swap parts on it just to see how it works and such!!     I'd like to start from scratch but i don't know what i'd even need, i figure if i buy and build a cheaper kit, then buy a few books it'll be a lot easier on me!! Thanks for the help and sites! Colin

    i just started playin about a month ago, and now i'm looking for an Ele. Guitar. One of my friends is selling a cheap one so i think i'll buy it and then build my own. Some questions i have though are about cheap kits, i want to start with a cheap kit before i do anything else, i want to learn how a guitar works and so forth. Question: Anyone know where i can get a cheap kit for a strat or something? i'm not really into tele's at least at the moment. Or maybe an old ele. parts guitar would work too. anywho for a kit i'm not looking to spend anymore then $120 but i was hoping for a better one then the $70 kits on ebay. Thanks for your help!     I've learned some Nirvana, Hootie, Top Gun Theme (intro) and some other little riffs. I want an ele so i can learn Sweet Child 'O Mine though. After that i'm not sure, i'm kinda stuck now 'cause i don't have anyone to help me out at all and i'm confused. I'll figure stuff out though!
