  1. hey everyone, this is my first time on this site and its great!! i have a problem though. awhile ago, i had a painting painted (with acrylic paint, oops) on my cedar top simon and aptrick acoustic. this guitar sounds great and i love it. however, shortly after the paint job, we tried to seal it using an oil based spray (i think it was normally used for paintings) and it did not dry properly. it has been nearly a year and i want my old guitar back! i was wondering if anyone new how to best remove this oil based spray while keeping the integrity of the wood and keeping the painting on my guitar. i would then want to refinish the guitar with a semi-gloss or satin finish. does anyone have any suggestions...i don't have a lot of money to spend getting it professionally done. i could not insert a picture here (who knows why) but if that would help i would be glad to email a copy of it. i hope soemone can help. thanks matt
