    nice tuners! where'd you get that dremel router add-on? I'm interested to get one as well. And what dremel router bits do you use if I may ask? good luck with the inlays

    I see they actually have their own design of inlays which I wanted to have custommade. That makes things easier!

    thanks @curtisa. Didn't know them. I'll check it out. Shipping to Europe shouldn't be too expensive given the size and weight of inlays. if anyone knows a supplier like this in europe, please let me know

    good adress for different qualities of wood. Generally has small pieces available that he saves for body / neck blanks. currently use this shop to source my woods. Will do online business by sending you photos. Also sends out a weekly email with special pieces for sale. very customer friendly and willing to think with you on what best suits your project from a woodperspective. ( he's not a guitarbuilder )

    hey guys the inlays I made for my zebracaster were done using a dremel tool. I'd like to get a consistent quality and design for the inlays going forward. Doing them all with my dremel will not get me the quality I'd like to see. anybody use a shop or supplier of custom inlays? or maybe a shop not focused on guitars but on cutting small pieces of MOP etc in general? thx Age

    personally I like seeing the back of the headstock as part of the whole back of the neck, seeing the wood that it's made out of. also not sure on how the transition would need to be done from the back of the headstock to the neck, but that's a question of trying I guess. good luck deciding

    Very, very nice! I plan to do a build for my kid as well. He's currently 6yrs old. Would be nice for his 8th birthday or so. The theme will be difficult though. Today it's Minions, tomorrow it's Paw Patrol day after it's Cars ..... LOL looking forward to your finish!

    Received word last friday that we have a daughter waiting for us in Nicaragua! her name is Isabel Maria Teresa, 16 months old. this build therefore is going on hold as we will be going to Nicaragua for 4 months!

    nice woods and great price! personally I favor natural 'freakish' looks of wood, so wouldn't mind the light wood. Also, if you're going to installl humbuckers and a trem, a lot of it will dissapear with the cavity routing, so you'll end up with just a few lighter spots which (IMO) makes the top more interesting

    update here: looks like we're heading off to Nicaragua in the next month! Awaiting final approval from local authorities at the moment, but that should be ok. a little 1,5yr old kid waiting to meet us and become part of our family! my next build will be somewhat delayed I think haha

    spent some time this weekend at my wood-supplier. Man, it's like a 6-year old walking in a candy store! I'll probably go for a walnut body with the limba top. My supplier is getting some new pieces of walnut next week and he'll make a few selections for me. Now I'll try to do some photoshopping to create my design.

    very old topic and it seems some of these members have not visited anymore in the past few years. Would like to get a copy of a 540P template for my next project to use as a base for a new design. Going to mash it up with a mosrite template. anybody has one available?

    That body turned out really great. Nice walnut back and I'm always a lover of gold-tops, looking great. I tried doing a gold-finish once and failed. How did you get on with the finish? have fun putting everything together!
