  1. It is done!! So here ya go Maiden69 the front side. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/fedexfront.jpg The back. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/fedexback.jpg What do you think?
  2. Hmmm, I might just have to play around with some of that stuff.
  3. It won't fit into there little vans. I am always up to hear new ideals.
  4. Have to keep something for the last pic.
  5. Here is the FedEx neck. I was trying to keep the white flowing down the neck and still incorporate the black, orange and purple. The tune keys, truss-rod cover and nut are black. I still don’t know about the neck paint scheme I might have to due another one and let it go with two necks heck it has five straps that go with it. I am happy with how the headstock design came out. I did try several other designs and it really was a pain to come up with something that blended with the whole guitar and was simple yet cool. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/neck212.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/neck33.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...itarstuff19.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...itarstuff18.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...itarstuff17.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...itarstuff15.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...eyeofFedEx1.jpg
  6. Tilt your head to the right. Well, she said it was to step of a price for her. Thank GOD! I really really did not want to make that thing. I also found out she plays in a punk rock band so I guess it was a stick it to the man kind of thing for her!?
  7. My abilities are not the problem. It was sketched as a JOKE and NOT to be built. The guitar can be built for a lot less money. The high price is to persuade her that it is not worth it to do. If she wants to pay that much then so be it.
  8. Are freaking nuts! I made a quick mockup of this some time ago as a joke. I emailed it to my friend back home about three months ago for a laugh. He calls me tonight and says he found someone that wants it made. I priced it at $4000.00 and said if he wants that he can pay this. He said it’s not a he! I said nothing, what can you say to that. It is not something I want to make but if she says I’ll pay that I don’t know what I am going to do. Funny none the less. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/DSCF0265f1.jpg
  9. Yes the Behringer cabs are very good I also like the Kustom head too and have not had any problems with them in three years. I do run the Behringer cabs sometimes with my Tube Works 6190 for a different sound. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/DSCF0252h5.jpg I am very impressed with the Behringer lineup so about 9 months ago I got a Behringer ultracoustic ACX 1000 and I am dang happy I did, I love that thing. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/DSCF0252h4.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/DSCF0252h9.jpg
  10. Well it’s not done yet. I put a test neck on it and strung it up to make sure all the wiring is working and the switches are doing what they are supposed to do. All is good to go! http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/DSCF0219y.jpg The headstock in my mind will look like an airplane from side view with a little angle, wing on the downside. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/DSCF0218zz.jpg Just some more pics. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...DSCF0231yy4.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...DSCF0231yy2.jpg
  11. If you have a DPDT toggle and you only use one side does that make it a SPDT?
  12. Just got done playing with my new DeWalt router and WOW what a difference from the Skill brand I had. I should have got this thing a long time ago. Dang!! Here is a pic. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/DW618PK_K1.jpg
  13. This is the router I got today. I chose this one due to the ease of adjustability in depth change and from fixed to plunge base. IMO, I don’t like the little knob adjusters for depth change. The one that I got has big dial around the motor that works like a big screw on the fixed base. The plunge base is a slide that changes the depth with a little stair like thing on the base ring that can add an inch to the depth at bottom end if you move it in and out of the way of the depth rod. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=prod...18PK&lpage=none
  14. Ok, I need to get a new router tomorrow. My router coughed a couple of times then gave me the finger and died. So I need to know which router is the best of the best, nothing less then #1.
  15. Just staying with the colors you see from outside of the trucks. It would look good with your choices too.
  16. I finally got time to finish off the body. Here are some pics. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/FedEx2.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...10100017895.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...P1010001896.jpg
  17. Ok I found some more numbers inside the treble f hole here is how they look (4271 23). I am thinking the more I look at the L-40 (inside the bass f hole) that the top of the 4 is not all there and what looks to be a 0 that is the same height as the partial 4. If you finish of the 4 it would leave room to make the 0 into an 8. So I think it is an L-48 basic guitar and the numbers on the treble side are the batch numbers and it is in the 1946 to 1952 range.
  18. I agree with you on that and I have seen a close up picture of him with the guitar and it looked like he was in his late thirties. My bride is 26 her mom is 45 her mom’s mom just passed away three weeks ago at 67 so I am just estimating the guitars age at 70. It looks like the guitar pic in the L-4 models but with f sounds it could be a younger guitar seeing how that model was made from 1935 and discontinued in 1956.
  19. Thanks, It looks like they dropped the zero in the stamps. They must have used double digit stamps for up coming models back in the day. It looks to be an L-4 standard model around 1935.
  20. The only markings I could find where stamped on the inside back (L-40). You can see the stamp mark looking inside the top sound hole. I do know it is four generations old and that is all the info I have. Is there a web site I can go to for info? http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/P101000115.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/P1010014.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/P1010019.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/P1010022.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/P1010023.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/P1010026.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/P1010015.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/P1010016.jpg
  21. I would like to narrow it down to about three of my own designs to do and it looks like I will go threw a lot of different styles. Plus I like to be different then everybody else. This in turn is probably a curse.
  22. I have way too many projects going on at one time. I have almost completed the templates for the other four guitars on the table. Here are all three. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...-14-05_0415.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...-20-05_1551.jpg This one is going to be two guitars. One with a lighted shouting star for a friend and one with out the shouting star with PH cap. You can see the shouting star in the diagram. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/P10100091.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...-20-05_2045.jpg This is the black widow “name subject to change with out notice”. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/P1010011.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...-20-05_2046.jpg This is the lower case v with QM cap “name subject to change with out notice”. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/briand1/P1010010.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...-20-05_2047.jpg
  23. http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y117/bria...-20-05_1251.jpg Taking a little break from working on the neck today. I put the bridge on and started to wire up the pups. What do you know three of the toggles are wrong type all six are on/off I need three of them to be on/off/on. Not to worry I ordered three on/off/on toggles, should be here in two-three days.
  24. WOW, very, very, nice!! I have thought about making a violin, now I don’t know.
  25. What is your favorite truss rod to use? If you want to say why please do.
