  1. Hi if I can pass on some constructive critisiscm and that would be to offer us members an introductory price for a cutter or cutters and for us to try the bits and pass on whether they are good, bad or whatever you know customer feedback. The reason I say this is I would certainly wouldn't pay any more than $40 for a bit that might be very good or very bad but in the event I found these to be of a very poor quality and were innaccurate then $40 is not a waste of money to me but $70-80 would certainly be. This is by no means a dig at you its also some feedback to help you sell these. I for one would certainly love to try at least one at a introductory rate and then if it was of a very reasonable quality would consider ordering a full set of the most common radiuses. Also how safe and secure would it be to send payments to you and recieve our cutters ? again this is something that needs to be addressed before I even think about sending a single dollar! I'm sure others on this board will agree to the comments I have made and they are all comments that you as a seller must take note of hope this helps I'm in if its all good
  2. Hi Woodenspoke they look great would you consider making them to sell ?? also how much ?? sure would like one
  3. Not to my knowledge in fact somewhere somebody will claim it has and after all you can't reinvent the wheel so go ahead and look forward to seeing how it progresses.
  4. I can certainly help you with that. I see you are based in Nottingham like me. PM me and I can even supply some MDF templates, of course you know you ain't gonna get it for free........
  5. Nice build bro would love to know more how you made an oscillating spindle sander from a drill press and wiper motor now that would be cool
  6. That look like its going to be a great build, just curious what make is your table top sander machine is it an oscillating type or a fixed spindle sure looks great maybe a nice pic of it ?
  7. That is a nice design brutha is this all cut out by hand or machine ?? beautiful work
  8. Doug that is amazing do you use the laser to cut out the inlay or the CNC ?? the reason I ask is many people have told me MOP doesn't like laser just curious as to what you use outstanding work as usual
  9. Bro to be honest get all 3 burrs I have them and you will always be ready for whatever fretwire you need to file, I have had my set for the last 15 years and still use it to this day good investment
  10. Nice and simple that is a beautiful
  11. Hey I just noticed you are in Lincoln!!!! I only live up the road so to speak in Nottingham!!!!!!!! nice to see some UK members and also not too far away That is a damn fine fingerboard and I have come to the stage now that it is just not cost effective to do anymore fancy inlays as it takes up too much of my time and basically any complex stuff I simply don't make a penny from it, this is why trying to get someone good and reasonable is what I have decided to do, do you build your own guitars and stuff ??
  12. Huntidoug that is a very very fantastic insight into inlaying which I enjoyed looking and reading, you are a true master at this work just a damn pity you are in the US and I'm stuck here in the UK as you would be doing all my inlay work which I have to do by hand which is not cost effective and labour intensive. Do you have a PM e-mail ?? I would love to know what prices you charge for certain jobs. PM through this board and I can e-mail you mu home e-mail and we can go from there CHEERS!
  13. Killer work Dino that looks like you could eat it!!!!!!!!
  14. Hey guys just thought I'd post a recent pic of some custom guitar necks I am working on for various customers hope you guys like them Top is a Jackson reverse head for a Lynch Sub project 2nd is a Nightswan maple neck but customer has yet to decide what fretboard,3rd all maple classic Nightswan jsu need frets and shaping this one is for sale and lastly an Ibanez which can be had in 22 or 24 fret Floyd or no Floyd nut, enjoy
  15. Normally I use 1/2 diameters for getting the body shape done and a 3/8ths diameter for all the routing for pick-ups,cavity and trems hope this helps.
  16. Hey Erik if the guy that made these adjusted his pricing I'm sure he would be innundated with orders for these, just seems alot of $$ for something that seems quite simple, again I am not disputing this guys work and I do believe that he has something there but on a programmed CNC machine and I would assume they all come from a standard blank these would literally cost a few dollars each. Now don't get me wrong there is nothing in making a decent markup but I would sooner make a little often than alot less often, JMHO.
  17. Hi Erik that is a very cool idea and a very accurate way to do this, I would love to have a set of these "BUT" the price of each individual cutter that I need would be almost $1200+ dollars and for that I would invest in a belt sander and make a swinging radius adaptation which would be more than I would ever need and I know the accuracy would be perfect. If there was a group buy and these were made at a more affordable price then I would be certainly in for sure 100%. I'm sure others would probably feel the same ?? great idea bro.
  18. The golden rule to routing is this which I have performed for over 20+ years and that is "Never Ever" cut more than 1/2 the diameter of the cutter, so in lay mans term if you have a 1/2 cutter never cut more than a 1/4 in one pass hope this helps
  19. Thanks Jay5 and Bobz I found the video's and they are cool!!!!! Just one question Jay5 how did you set your tele neck in your router table ??? pics would be cool, also did you make a jig for this as well ??
  20. Hey Bobz thanks for that info on the router cutter and that is reasonably priced so I am going to order one right now, I was looking at getting one from Trend,Freud and Titman but the prices were expensive but I guess at the end of the day you pay for what you get and provided you don't flog the cutter to death it should last. I would like to see the YouTube link if you can post it and get any more ides on the jig But Jay5's jig looks awesomme, again many thanks bro.
  21. Jay5, many thanks for all the valuable info you have provided, now I can see how this works out. I will try and come up with a jig like yours and see how mine works out, also where is the best place to get a 1" radius roundover bit at a decent price and quality ?? Here in the UK they are horrendously expensive maybe we can buy some in bulk from the US and pass on the savings ?? many thanks for all your advice it is greatly appreciated.
  22. Hey no worries when you are ready brutha
