  1. Okay, that didn't go well. How about this, does anyone know what would be the best way for me to learn how to use an oscilloscope?
  2. I am interested in building a version of the 1955 Gretsch Silver Jet. Has anyone built a "capped" top before? From what I understand there is about 5/8" space between the apex of the "cap" and the Mahogany body. Anyone? Any/all info is welcomed. Thanks

  4. Thats what I thought but itwas overlapped and looked wrong, where can I get that paper and what is it called?
  5. I have the ground wire tied around the bridge screw or whatever, but where do I put the other end with the roach clip dealie on it? Also, I took the silvery paper off of the inside of the back plate, was I supposed to leave that on there? Thanks fellas...
  6. I don't think so. From what I have read these Saga kits are hit and miss. Some are missing parts, some are missing holes, some don't line up at all. What do you expect for $150.00? The encouraging thing is that everyone says they sound very good when all is said and done. Thanks for the info!
  7. International Luthiers or something, out of Oklahoma? Where do I get that kind of lacquer?
  8. Yep, those holes are not there on mine. That is why the instructions weren't making sense. Thanks dude. By the way, how did you get the top to show through that blue? Looks nice.
  9. Nope, no holes. Will that bulletproof vaneer crack when I drill into it? "Tap in the studs"? The "studs" being? Sorry man, can't express how new I am at this.
  10. I've never done anything like this so bare with me. First, how do you attach the pickups to the body. There are no holes drilled, is this a manufacturing mistake or do I have to drill them or what? The other is I have an unattached blue wire that I don't know what to do with, do you?
  11. I'm doing my first kit, SAGA HT-10. Has anyone put this together? I have a couple of questions about the wiring and pick-ups but would like to discuss outside this forum so I don't waste bandwidth and time. Thanks
  12. I don't want to take up time and space if there is a FAQ for newbies that someone could point me towards. Thanks
  13. I want to begin the journey of building guitars with my 10 yr old son. Where do I start? I have checked out the Saga kits and they look like a good place to begin. Could someone point me in the right direction? I want something that I can stain myself and that will sound decent as I have read that the pick ups and swithes on the Saga's suck. Thanks
