    I don't see a problem as long as the bridge is tight on the wire and metal is touching metal.

    I have built 2 grizzly kits, the expensive bass kit and the steel string kit. The hardware on the bass is decent but the pickups are pretty bad. http://store.guitarfetish.com/ has good prices on pickups and they have pretty good reviews. The funny thing about the grizzly acoustic is that it a very cheap kit but it sounds incredible.

    My first guitar weighs in at about 10lbs. It is 2 inches thick chambered mahogany with a maple top that is about the size of an Ibanez artcore. It's really well balanced though and it is also really comfortable to play sitting. My bass is lighter but it is neck heavy and not as comfortable to play.

    You can do a slight angle on a fender style neck construction. I did it with mine. I think I did about an 1/8 inch over about a 7 inch headstock so it's a very slight angle. I did it with a wide blade on a band saw.

    I carved the neck for my guitar fairly thick and slightly asymmetric. Nice and comfy

    Thanks for the suggestions. I've finished the guitar now. I did more testing and found I didn't need to do anything to get blue to work well. The problem was that I first tested with tru-oil for a finish and not the blond shellac I actually was going to use (I didn't have the shellac when I started testing).

    Well, it's been almost a year since I covered this in my AP physics class but if I remember correctly, you cannot multiply two voltages together. You can only add voltages in series or add the reciprocal (1/V) in parallel (why parallel wired pickups are quieter than series).

    Are you planning to use classical nylon strings on this? If you are, that humbucker won't work.

    Yeah, you pretty much described a hollow arch top. The only difference is that an arch top and what you described is arch tops generally have some bracing and a bridge that sits against the top instead of being attached to a plate in the top.

    I think there was a topic a while ago wondering if there were any guitars made from one piece of wood. That Strat should be interesting. *never mind didn't see the glue joints. Should still be interesting though*

    to foil1more: if you roll 2 pieces of paper and 2 pieces of foil that are both 22 inches long and layer it paper/foil/paper/foil and roll it tight as you can. you can get a capacitance of .05uf. it also depends on how thick the paper and foil are...

    I would like to tune my electric bass C-G-D-A but I haven't been able to find ans sets for the electric bass. There are sets for the upright bass but they won't work (well they might but they are friggin' expensive). Any idea what gauges I would use?

    What are you going to do with those holes? Fill them to look like eyes?

    Make the neck and body out of mahogany and use 24 3/4" scale.

    The super stretchy yellow stuff. Stewmac has it. It's a lot easier than a spring too. The tubing actually stays on the screw when you try to attach the pickup to the ring.
