you guys are nuts! picking up a strat is like putting on a glove. its like it was made for you. and you can't really say you don't like the sound of single coils, cause there is almost definitly some artist you like who plays them whether it be Clapton Hendrix Knopfler Cray SRV and the list goes on forever, but these are some of my favorites. sorry about all the ranting . . . I like strats,thats my vote

thanks so do you just wipe the glue onto the unfinished wood surface or what? sorry for all the questions, but i'm trying to learn all i can, because i plan on starting to build my first guitar soon.

Do I need to use wood filler before its painted, and does it need clearcoat after?

As much as I would like to build a guitar from scratch, I don't have any kind of shop at all.I was thinking about buying an unfinished tele body and getting it painted the same color as my dads car. Can I take the body to an auto paint shop and do this? Do I have to do anything special to the wood?By the way I am thinking about getting an alder tele body.
