  1. I just scored a Pignose off of ebay for just under $200 before shipping and I found an article on guitarnuts.com that describes how to modify it. Has anyone tried this? What does it do to the tone of the amp? How does it change the sound? Dan www.guitarnuts.com/amps/g40v/index.php
  2. Not bad. Here's a link to my first attempt. You're right about how easy it is to slip. Also, I learned its always a good idea to wipe the finger prints and smuges off from the inside of the plexiglass before you install it. I have an active pickup in this one and I need a better battery holder. www.hampleman.com/guitar.htm
  3. I have a large sheet of plexiglass (acylic) I want to make a pickguard for my strat, I guess I can do a google search for "how to cut plexiglass" but I wanted to use a pickguard off of another cheap ebay strat which I cannabolized as a template and I was wondering how to get the knobs off. There is no set screw on the knob. Can I just prize it off with a screwdriver? Dan
  4. Yes, it does. I just learned what ring and tip is. Wiper? I guess that's what I mean by common, because it 'wipes' from one end of the resistor to the other. Thanks.
  5. the diagram/instructions that came with my active p.u. I'm installing this p.u. by itself in a strat body. You can see a picture of the diagram on my website: www.hampleman.com/guitar.htm. If I understand the diagram correctly, the red wire from the p.u. goes to the positive of the battery and the neg goes to the stereo jack. Also, the 25k pot has 1 side grounded and the common going to the stereo jack. I'm not real sure about grounding. Can anyone make any comments?
  6. I was adding springs to the back of my strat copy because I went to heavier strings and the spring holder the is screwed into the top of the "swimming pool" spring cavity on the back and the screws pulled out and springs went flying all over the place. I'm wondering how to repair this: should I drill out the old holes and fill with bondo or should I route out the wood and glue in a new piece and then drill new holes? BTW I tried doing a search and could find the words. Dan
