  1. I wetsanded my last one with MicroMesh pads up to 12k, and no polishing compound.
  2. Hamer has used that setup since the beginning. Here's a typical diagram: http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wirin...tic=2h_2v_1t_3w
  3. I was just about to say that I've done a couple of necks with RR neck amber and the more you apply the darker and more brown/orange it gets. Looks like you got there on your own. Good deal.
  4. I don't know if this one really qualifies, but it's so over the top I just can't resist. Romeo's Juliet
  5. Westone from that era, IIRC, was made in the Matsumoto plant. Westbury, Aria, Electra, et al were all made there and the quality was very good. I had a Westbury guitar and an Electra/Westone bass back in the 80s. Good stuff. If that guitar is in decent shape I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
  6. I fixed your links. http://s142.photobucket.com/albums/r83/jtm...bayplans001.jpg http://s142.photobucket.com/albums/r83/jtm...bayplans002.jpg Here's something to think about. Why would I pay you $20 when I can get Tele plans free, and for a small donation to this site, Strat plans and lots of other stuff in the download section? Something else: I know the people who made the other stuff, but I don't know you from Steve. Just sayin'.
  7. Let me be the first to say thank you for your service, be safe, and don't have too much fun in basic.
  8. I have an Indo Squier neck from the Cort factory. It had a thin poly finish. I lightly sanded it, applied a couple of coats of Deft lacquer, then Reranch Neck Amber to taste. I then finished with about a full can of Deft. After curing it was wetsanded and polished. click Kluson kindalike tuners and a new nut and it plays like a champ.
  9. The cedar/limba combo looks better than I expected, but I have some questions. Why put the scarf joint there instead of further down? Did you consider a backstrap to cover the joint? Why no volute? Just curious. click
  10. How are you gonna fit that under your chin?
  11. Give Curtis Novak a shout. He's messed around with some Melody Maker stuff and he does excellent work. Tell him I sent ya.
  12. This fella seems to have made it work ok ... www.brentmason.com
  13. I have locking tuners on exactly one Strat, and it's been on its stand for about 6 months. I have 3 other Strats that have been gigged regularly (including one plywood Squier with GFS tuners ) and I have no trouble with tuning stability. I usually check my tuning a couple of times per set anyway, but it's usually not necessary. Then again, I don't beat the hell out of my guitars either.
  14. That's Carvin's standard Pearl Blue. The guitar pic is from the Guitars in Stock listing. I'd call or email Carvin and ask if they have a PPG or DuPont paint code. Then go to an auto body paint supplier and have them load it into a spray can for you. Also, you could try the Duplicolor touch up charts on their website, or a company called Paintscratch.
  15. I could be mistaken, but I believe, gentlemen, you've just been punk'd.
  16. This is one of my all time favorites click
  17. Stupid Deal of the Day for $99. It'll be gone soon. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/stupid
  18. Nitrile, blue or purple. I get them at Walmart.
  19. I stole it from marksound, hope he didn't mind. I don't mind. I stole them from someone else. In fact, here's a couple more.
