  1. hey guys! im almost done my new body, and i dont want to put finish on it. i like the raw feel. is there anything i can put on the body that can keep water/moisture etc. from getting absorbed by the wood, but keeping the raw feel? thanks! n.m.
  2. hello if i mix up north and south and finish and start, would i electrocute myself? im almost done with the guitar, just have to install the p/u, bridge and neck.
  3. cool thanks man! that's what i needed to know! last question, which one would be NORTH START, NORTH FINISH, SOUTH START, SOUTH FINISH? im guessing that red is start and black is finish. don't want to mess up!
  4. yup, here ya go! http://guitarelectronics.com/diagrams/h1.html hey, if this helps, there are BLACK and RED wires coming from the coil CLOSEST to the neck, and BLUE and WHITE wires comming from the coil closest to the BRIDGE. there a wire without the plastic coloured stuff (don't know what it's called. you can see the actual wire) that is soldered to the metal part of the humbucker that the mounting screws go through. later, n.m.
  5. i was looking at a humbucker wiring diagram, and there's all these "north south" things, and i was wondering, how do i know which wire is what? my humbucker is wired to a coil tap switch, a volume and tone pot and a 5-way switch. there is also a black grounded wire soldered to a tremolo spring brace. NOTE: i dont know what brand my p/u's are!
  6. hi my guitar has a 5 way switch, a coil tap switch for the humbucker. i want to take out the 2 single coil p/us so it just has 1 p/u (the humbucker) and no 5 way switch. how would i do this? diagrams would help
  7. hey guys im building an explorer shape body, and im using parts from an old beater guitar on the explorer. it has an odd floyd rose trem, kinda like a fender trem but with fine tuners and a locking nut. I want to install a tune-o-matic bridge, but i dont know how im going to put the neck on an angle since my school doesnt have any fancy tools. im probably just going to stick the floyd in and then block it, but i have no idea on installing a floyd bridge. is it possible to remove the pivot screw things from the beater guitar, and then install it on my new guitar? how do i install the pickups? i know i have to drill holes in the cavaties to get the wire through. im mostly concerned about the tremolo installation. if anyone can help, that would be great. thanks!
