  1. good idea. i have a REALLY nice mortice chisel I think would do well. razor sharp...hand forged...
  2. No no no no... sorry I wasn't more clear. a few months ago when I joined this board, I was in the process of refinishing a no-name custom body I got. I had planned on using the B-5 and the TOM on it (the project guitar), and got a neck from eBay thinking it would fit(silly me). Once I got the neck, the neck was too wide for the pocket. I have NO tools to remedy that here at our apartment, so what happened? it has been sitting and sitting and sitting. so I was just thinking about it last night and wanted to know whether or not it could be done. I was giving up on my project! I understand the issues and I will forget it.. Thank you for the replies.
  3. but that could be done...I've already got a custom neck and stuff on the guitar now...it wouldn't be past me to shim it up a bit and make it even and stiff... any other issues?
  4. I have not been able to finish the project guitar. I got the bigsby mounted and I have a neck...the finish on the guitar is done...etc...but I just don't have easy way to fit the neck pocket... So I was sitting here thinking.. what's the possiblity I could put the Roller Tune o Matic I bought on my Strat with the Bigbsy B-5 the only issues I can see is maybe not having wood where the poles for the TOM go? I may be able to go forward of the cavity a bit but..then I'll have to do something with that hole.. or not. what do you think? have I gone batty? Ryan
  5. Thanks all. yeah Pete, I know. I thought about the cavity issues as well. The guitar I'm building will have the roller. I bought the Bigsby for it, actually. I'm going to make it so it can go down all the way to the body. the neck is too big for the pocket... I should be able to just shave it down I assume.
  6. Put the Bigsby B50 I got in the mail today on my strat. LOL I bought it for my project guitar.. still waiting on the bridge to come in the mail... turns out the S-101 neck I bought...doesn't fit the neck pocket. it's too wide. I still plan fully on using it, as it has BEAUTIFUL medium jumbo frets and really nice rosewood FB. I don't know what Chinese guy put that piece of wood in the easy-neck oven, but I give him kudos cause it's a nice neck for coming from a cheap guitar... and it only cost me 35 bucks (and thats with shipping) getting further though... the body is finished now. made an interesting sheet-metal p/g for it.. and starting to fit the electronics inside... need to get a linear pot from radio shack...bought two audio tapers...razzofracka... getting closer! Ryan
  7. pair them up...put them next to each other where a humbucker would go.. what won't work? I know there has to be something. Ry
  8. Sorry for the quality? I would have thought that was a real guitar. SWEET choice of woods. you should leave the back natural, and just stain the top blue...I have always thought that was a nice combo. I'm a big Tele fan after never having owned one...so I know what you mean. Someday I'm gonna build my own semi-hollow tele.
  9. I have to join the band wagon here. If you put this in for GOTM, I'll be voting for it. Freeking awesome, dude. I really like this guitar. wanna build me one too?
  10. That is one of the coolest/most beautiful "Tele's" I've ever seen, hands down. Is that your own personal build?
  11. SOOOOOO sweet. I wanna swear about how cool it is but I see the sensors are still working! haha I want one!
  12. "BTW what is the GOTM?" Guitar of the Month...people vote for the best project guitar built by a member every month and it is featured on the main Project Guitar Website. If that's what you meant.
  13. I didn't build the body, so the neck pocket is not my design..(nor is the guitar for that matter.) it seems to be a strat style neck pocket, and I'm sure most of the knock-off brands use the same type of pocket...so we'll see. if not I'll figure it out. the strat neck I have fits in the pocket except for the "rounded" end...and i *think* that LP necks are wider aren't they? I would think they wouldn't interchange...or that the strat neck would be loose in an LP pocket...
