  1. hey araz, thanks man. if u use msn add me to your list, attard1978@hotmail. com its definitely not too late. thanks e. Hi Eric, I stumbled across your post from a search... Anyways, Langevin & Forest on Pie IX street has EXACTLY what you need. I know because I just bought an 8'' x 4' bookmatched flamed maple veneer from them for $12cnd. I don't know the exact thickness but it is ready to be used on a guitar. Go check them out... but give yourself a good hour for visiting, the place is not that big but they have a lot of great stuff... Hope this info is not too late, Take care, Araz ←
  2. thanks guys, ill look into the leads. I may have to do some phone calling to avoid buying the wrong thing. I guess i need some Book Matched Flammed maple Veneer (or similar) thickness between 1/20th and 1/40th of an inch. Keep those leads coming guys, I really appreciated it. Eric Montreal, Canada
  3. i actually did see that and looked around but again..not very straight forward for someone who has never done this before. ill check it out again and see if i can make heads or tails of whats there. also thanks for the other 2 leads ill checkem out. any other help would be most appreciated. cheers. eric.
  4. Actually I am an ebay veteran..the only person selling something close to what i am looking for is that seller whom i bought the body from (gill_malmsteen ??). No flamed maple to speak of on ebay, also I was hoping to buy from a company or supplier as i want more than 1 set. 10 sets would be best. any ideas are appreciated. thanks. Eric.
  5. Here is the original question, having some difficulty with the site not responding. E. Hello All, this is my absolute first post here. I stumbled on this site and think it is incredible, the tutorials alone rock!! I just purchased a Jackson body which I have sanded down. It was in rough shape, i did all necessary wood filling wth plastic wood and and going to have to build up the sections between the pickups and bridge as it was not even. (I hope I can glue ontop of this stuff without it puffiing up?) My intention is to apply a nice veneer to the top of the guitar as seen in the veneering tutorial on this site. Here is my question: where can i get a nice bookmatched (is that the word?) thin veneer top? I went through the list of suppliers on the sire but to be quite honest it is VERY intimidating for a newbie who has never done this and doesn't have a good grasp of all this terminology. Essentially I am looking for a 2 piece veneer of flammed maple (like on the tutorial) and a piece for the headstock. Thickness between 1/20th-1/40th of an inche. Oh also, I am in montreal Canada but have not problems buying from a US based supplier. The guy who sold me the Jackson is also selling some Curly maple veneer (1/40th") which he is going to make me a deal on , 10USD for the 2 pieces for the body and a pice for the headstock. Problem is that I will more than likely mess this up so I want to buy quite a few sets. I have no problems buying 10 sets, especially since I will store the ones I dont use for friends who are starting projects. So all this being said, can any one you provide me with some companies that have what I am looking for.... (esentially the same wood that was used in the tutorial ! or very close to that). I am opened to other types of wood if they have the same visual effect. Thanks Eric Attard a.k.a. Schitzo1978 Montreal, Canada attard1978 @ hotmail . com
