  1. im living in a one room shack right now, all metal, and i never really noticed a difference from playing in an actual room as compared to a shack. my only option besides outside, but outside is too loud. i guess i could try playing on the other side of the room to see if there is a difference lol. ;0
  2. if you want to impress some girls and can sing the beatles are always a good choice in my opinion. most of the songs aren't too hard to play as long as you can play a good amount of chords. melodies are fairly easy and catchy, being able to sing is key though. the early beatles' songs are easier to play if you are having some difficultly.
  3. thanks for the help. as far as actually solving the problem i havent really had time to tinker with it. preparing for yet another move... at least its to Germany. i did realize that it was a cap on the top of the pot, and not a solder lol. eventually ill get to it and hopefully solve the problem. the purpose of the wiring, experimention, and some practice soldering too. kind of new at all guitar mods and am just trying to get down a few different basic wirings and understanding how they work. the switch in all honesty has me fairly confused. i understand the basic concepts of a switch, but i do not understand how each prong correspondes to switch position. yet again ill eventually firgue that out too lol. thanks for the help again.
  4. so i decided to kind of wing this wiring... i took out the switch and used this http://www.guitarnucleus.com/gitschems/emg_2p2v1t.gif as a guide, the only difference is i dont have a battery to connect. so somehow i ended up with 3 volume knobs. the first two pots with the pickups connected act independently, but the third, supposed to be the tone, is somehow the master volume. any ideas?
  5. Alright im trying to do a kind of crazy set up on my cheapo guitar. Its a passive system with 2 single coils (i took the humbucker out) 1 volume, 2 tones, and a 5 way, the bottom setting is a kill because of the removal of the humbucker. now i want to make it into 2 volumes, 1 tone, and maybe a switch, i dont really know if i need one. The wiring is pretty much a strat and yea. kinda wondering what is the best course of action here or if this even makes sense...
