  1. I recentley put chrome Allpart pickup covers on my friends SG . Now he gets a lot more feedback and squel than before. What did I do wrong? The only thing I noticed was that the polepieces dont line up on the bridge pickup but it squels on both. Any ideas?
  2. On the official Vai website he has a guitar that was torched to match Hendrixe's they did the back of the neck and it actually looks pretty cool. There are like 100 Vai guitars posted but it is in there. I would seal it though.
  3. Well to answer myself looks like a lot of people end up with the string height at the nut around .015 I think Ill start off at .030 and work down from there.
  4. I am finishing a fretless conversion on my P/J bass . If someone could share with me some setup info from there Bass it would be greatly appreciated. It is on a Japanese Fender P/J really need string height at nut , relief, and I am really having to lower my bridge saddles do you think I need to shim my neck? Thanks Allan
  5. just to add my two cents I like the new kramers. The fit and finish is nice. Nice tuners etc. for the money a great guitar. I would buy more if music yo ever had any in stock.
  6. Get some blank vinyl from sign shop or sometimes Wal-mart - Hobby Lobby and then use Compass to cut. Hobby lobby or other craft stores also have compasses with a blade on the end for cutting circles. A product for airbrushing called frisket ( a masking film ) would also work . But, a perfect circle taped freehand would really test or wreck ones nerves. I agree with everyone on shooting the white first. Also note that the paint will build up to the thickness of whatever mask you are using so the thinner the better. Saves on the blending level with your clear. An airbrush would be real helpful. And pull your masks off before your paint completly hardens (not touching freshly painted areas ) to help level and avoid the area where the paint meets the tape from flaking as you pull. With the black I would shoot enough for a nice uniform coverage but as thin as you can get.
  7. The last time I did a snakeskin I stretched mesh ( like an orange bag) thightly over the surface and the airbrushed my snakeskin pattern over an appropriate basecoat ( black , brown ...) Just have to shoot at a perfect 90 and not bump the material. I am sure their must be an easier way but this produces a pretty nice result.
  8. Ok folks I need some divine inspiration. Lets see some pics of where you create those works of art.
  9. I have wore out my box set. Some of the best guitar work going. Fire in the hole what a song. What is the lineup gonna be?
  10. I am reworking a B C Rich Warlock in Mirage paint (colorshift deep purple to green gold...) I am thinking about powdercoating my hardware white . Does anyone have any pics of a guitar done up in white hardware. I could have sworn my Live Korn vid has some white on an Ibanez. Just want to see how cheesy it may look before I commit. If you read this Brian I saw you used to live in Huntsville I too came from there. Do you know Tommy Shepard? Thanks ALlan
  11. Could someone clue me in to were to find a tutorial on binding or a quick little run through. Thanks Spideyfoot
