  1. Holy crap I was gone for a while and seeing progress on this thread made it worth waiting haha its looking so damn awesome! Souls your bass is effing killer!! I HAVE to make a bass now :-P
  2. Holy crap this is such awesome work! I'm scared to dive into acoustic stuff haha. I'll watch this thread
  3. First off, I haven't been here in a while... its looking amazing! Anyway, I am going to start a new build here very soon. It's going to be my first 7 string! Seeing how I never had a 7 string (i've played them and what not but still), I want this guitar to be completely new to me as in the feel of fan frets and all! I was hoping to see if anyone here on the board could tell me how much they would charge to create one or two of these for me. One in ebony, and the other in ebony with a figured maple binding. I really want to try and make them myself but I have NO clue how to do the compound radius, even if I did, I probably don't have the tools for it either. haha. The scales I'm looking to use is 25.5" for the lower strings and 25" for the higher strings. Is a fanned fret compound radius possible? Thanks again guys!
  4. Very cool Idea with the custom bridge. I think i will actually make a hardtail multi cause of this idea now
  5. i need some dang micro mesh pads already... dang haha
  6. I've extended my pickup wires before plenty of times with just color coded wire from radio shack. as long as its electric taped or in your case, heat shrinked, then it should be fine. Let us know if shielding the pickup cavities solved it If not then yeah its going to be a bigger and tougher issue.
  7. thanks its really comfortable to play
  8. great idea to shield the cavities before gluing too. Notes taken! looking good man
  9. thanks a lot man! I've since put the guitar together and played a show with it. SOUNDS AMAZING!. Every single tone, lows, mids, highs, ring out and sustain like crazy. Im so happy with it. I took some pics but I think i'll wait. I'm going to get the rest of the parts in the next week or so then put it together and call it good . Its been cleared and buffed since and looks amazing
  10. hey thanks man! that site is awesome. I really like the look of the hipshots/PRS trem. I've started saving and should have it by next week :-P But I will use that site to upgrade the trem block. Has anyone tried these upgrade blocks? Brass or Steel what do you think?
  11. OH yeah, I forgot, I made a vlog today for my Youtube channel and it has all the work I did today :-P Here it is
  12. That is so cool! I wonder why the Zpoxy decided to follow the scratches instead of just build up and stay smooth. Looks bad ass
  13. I still REALLY want to do a black burst but I only have a spray paint can of Stew-macs gloss black clear. I wish I had a airbrush... GAH haha Does anyone know of any tutorials of how to burst with a spray can? I'm going to start searching.
  14. Here is the binding/contrast on the side I'm STOKED! I really want to thank everyone on this site who has helped and just posted amazing builds and information that gave me inspiration and knowledge to get where I am now. I would never imagine a build this awesome and good coming from myself this fast.
  15. Parts! Layed out Started the neck. Routed truss rod, Installed. Started the 10 degree headstock angle heres the neck up to the fretting stage. headstock is a little off. Had to move the tuners a bit. The headstock fits them perfect now though Then I painted the back of the guitar black. I caved and got rid of the natural back :-P god i love the figure
  16. Yeah I checked there too. Im just going to go with one on amazon if someone doesnt come through here :-P Im looking at the end of the month for parts
  17. This is exactly what I do. I start with my block then route for the truss rod, then fretboard. sand, etc. Then fret. Then shape the neck then build guitar finish all that. Then check the playing. Then level so its as little work as I can make it, then dress.
  18. jebus I love your builds haha This is probably a stupid simple question, but is there a reason for the strap button to not be centered on the bottom? Was it just better for balance in this case?
