  1. I tried re doing all of the joints, but the same result. Could it be possible that I wired the switch backwards? Would that make a difference?, Im not sure which was is first or if that even matters.
  2. thanks for all of the replies, I'm not using that particular switch but ill re-check all of the joints tomorrow to see if I can find out whats going on with it
  3. Hey everyone, I just wired up my guitar using the second diagram on this page (http://www.stewmac.com/freeinfo/Electronics/Switches/i-3191.html), and only the 2nd and 4th positions are producing sound. The other three positions are only audible when on high gain and even then they are really quiet and sound distant. Any ideas on what I may have done wrong? thanks!
  4. I am planing on making a PRS body, but I will be buying a premade bolt on neck. Is it possible to have a PRS with a bolt on? -Thanks
  5. Also If anybody happens to have the santana model guitar and could provide dimensions that would be great
  6. What im looking to make is something like the prs satana model. It looks like its more than a half inch. Does anybody know about how thick its top is and if a half inch is not enough? The wood that I can buy is either 1" thick, 9/16", or 1/2" -Thanks
  7. Well it has to be a certain thickness if your carving the top though
  8. What is the minimum thickness for a top? Also could you put the top on and then carve?
  9. On a guitar with a carved figure top is that a veneer, or is the entire guitar made out of that wood. Would the veneer be applied after the carve?
  10. I have been recently been looking into the Marshall plexi reissues, there are 3 (jtm45, 1987x, 1959slp). I cant decide which to get, and if anyone has tried these amps and has a reccomendation of one over the other it would be appreciated -Thanks
  11. Well I cant get internal pics but i can answer your questions, the amp that the foot switch is for is the line 6 spider 3 75 watt. The pedal doesnt need an external power supply, it gets its power from the amp. It also has a wah/volume pedal attached to it(the pedals name is the fbv shortboard) I was trying to see if i could get it to plug into any of the marshall amps.
  12. I have a footswitch that connects to my amp through a cat 5 cable (also called ethernet i believe). I want to use it on a different amp - is there anyway to convert the cat 5 to a 1/4 inch input ? - Thanks
  13. Does it matter wich prong the the wires are attached to? ( the bigger or smaller prongs)
  14. Here is the diagram: http://projectguitar.ibforums.com/index.php?showtopic=40073 I tried switching the wires around but it didnt change anything should i try one of the different prongs on the jack? -thanks
  15. Well actually I believe that you gave me the diagram a few days ago and thats the one that i used
  16. Which one is the hot wire
  17. Well there are only two wires going to the output jack. SHould I still try to switch them? -thanks
  18. I have just installed my electronics into my project guitar and everytime i touch the strings or the bridge i hear a buzzing noise coming from the amp. If anyone knows how to fix this that would be great.
  19. Does it matter which wire goes where? Also the switch is four way - sorry for the lack of detail. also when wiring the pots should the black line from the neck pickup be wired anywhere on the base of the pot? lastly is the red wire on the switch all one continuous wire or is it several diiferent ones? -Thanks
  20. Ill get right to the point: What i need is a complete guide or info on how to wire my entire guitar. What I have is two humbuckers each with two different wires coming from it, two pots, and a switch. I am just looking for the simplest wiring solution possible and i do NOT have diagrams for the pickups as they are cheap ones off of ebay. Any help is appreciated
  21. Well i have wet sanded with 400 and absolutely cannot get the shiny spots gone. The grain gets smooth first and in between doesn't seem to get touched by the paper.
  22. So what im going to do is just wet sand with 600 and up and then buff- that sound about right?
  23. I have applied minwax poly and was wondering about the process of getting it smooth and polished. If anyone has any results from this product that will also help too.
