  1. Thanks for the help guys. I know there is no easy solution to a HSS setup. If I go with all 500k pots should I do the treble bleed mod as well. My only concern there is I love how the fuzz face cleans up with the volume knob and have heard the treble bleed mod changes this quite a bit.
  2. How about using 500k volume pot and putting a resistor across lugs 1 and 3 to lower the resistance? I havent done the math yet but if I get the pot down to the 300-400 range it might be a decent compromise.
  3. Would all 500k pots be better than 500k for volume and 250k for the 2 tone pots?
  4. Has anybody tried this? http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa11/ajpeagle/Hss%20diagrams/hss-1.jpg
  5. I am going to set up my strat for an HSS configuration. Which pots should I use?
  6. I have a neck I bought to put on a body that I made. Theres quite a bit of buzzing all around so I want to basically level all the frets. What do I need to do and what are the most cost effective tools. I looked at Stew Mac and there are many options.
  7. Im confused by all the options for a tele bridge. Any recommendations?
  8. Thanks for the help guys. Im slowly learning how to do this stuff on my own. Its frustrating leaving a guitar in the hands of an incompetent tech.
  9. Do you see anything from the photos that would suggest the neck was mounted improperly? When I mounted the neck the pocket was so tight that there was no room to move the neck at all so I dont see how it could have been done any other way.
  10. The neck and body were premade from USACG. The neck pocket is very tight so Im pretty sure there isnt an alignment issue. The 6-2 strings run straight but the high E runs at a slight angle down the fretboard until it is very close to the edge of the frets at the highest frets. Would the nut be the problem?
  11. I just had a nut installed on my guitar and the tech told me the string spacing was too wide for my neck. The string spacing is 2 7/32 and the nut is 1 11/16. All strings are fine except for the high E which runs at a slight angle from nut to bridge leaving the string very close to the edge of the fretboard at the higher frets. Please help me solve this problem.
  12. Should I use a plunge or fixed base? When starting at the top with my template and 1" bit do I route the whole 1" or do I set the depth at about 1/2" and then reset the depth at 1" before I flip the body over and finish up? Do Spiral bits have bearings as well?
  13. Yeah makes sense. So no template on the flip side.
  14. So if the body is 1.75" thick and I use a 1" bit(with bearing on the top) I use the router in 1/2" increments then flip the body over and finish the remaining portion with another bit that has a bearing on the bottom. Does the bearing ride on top of the template? Will I have to make a template for the back of the guitar as well as the top?
