  1. Long time member. Few time poster. Hope you guys can help me out a little bit. I was introduced to Propeller Head's Reason 4.0 software this year for the first time. I'm in love. I have to have it and use it every day. I need it. I've got the main components I need to utilize the software but I wanted some more opinions on what else I need to buy. Here's a breakdown of what I already have. MacBook Pro KORG Concert 800 Piano (What's the deal with this piano? Is it a good one? I got it for free.) Reason 4.0 Software What should I buy to chain it all together? Obviously I need midi cables somewhere but what else? I've also got some nice old studio monitors but they use speaker wire so I would need adapters for these as well. How easy would it be to use these? Would it be easier to just buy new speakers? Do I really need studio monitors? Any answers to these questions or any further advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  2. thanks guys. i'll let you know how it goes.
  3. yeah, i've done the ebay thing before. im just trying to figure out if i could get more money from ebay or from a local store.
  4. I'm hoping you guys can help me out. I've been playing for about 6 years now and i have some gear that I no longer use. I'm thinking about selling some stuff and I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to how to go about that. I have a stock fender 57 reissue precision bass in an orange finish with a gold pickguard. It's in good condition with only a few small blemishes and some buckle rash on the back. The buckle rash doesn't go through the paint. I also have a miller hollow body in pretty good condition with only a few scratches. The only problem with the miller is that in one of my many moments that I'm not proud of I carved the word "time" into the back of the headstock. The miller is in a transparent black finish with flamed maple back and top. Both guitars have hard cases in good condition. I also have a 15 watt peavy bass combo. It's in good condition but I don't think I could get enough money for it to want to part with it. Right now I'm trying to figure out how i should go about selling this stuff. Take it to the local guitar center? Put it up on ebay? What do you guys think? I'll probably be buying more equipment with the money I make so I don't mind getting store credit but I'm afraid a music store will screw me on the price. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    My Music

a lot of people have said that. and yeah it is partially because im multitasking but for the most part its just how i sing. i've never had any vocal training.....obviously. so the whole trying to sing well thing is completely new to me. i have been working on my phrasing and i think it's getting better. should be an improvement in my next batch of songs. thanks for the input.

    My Music

well i figured i would post a link to my myspace music. recording quality isn't very good. i did all the songs in one take with a tape deck in my closet. The songs i have on there right now are my comedy stuff. i figure if one person on this forum likes it then it was worth it to post this. enjoy and feel free to give me your input. good or bad. 9. Why can't you wait to route the tremelo? It will go a lot better if you have the actual unit.
  10. They haven't changed because they've found an audience that is making them millions so why would they change? They're not great but neither were the ramones or the sex pistols. They tap into something that everyone can relate to one way or another. I would rather listen to them any day instead of some band like good charlotte or lindsey lohan or any of the other million people who suck but also managed to make it.
  11. I think you should offset the waiste of the guitar.
  12. I don't think it matters all that much. the mahogony peice will probably be too small to make a substantial enough difference for you to hear.
  13. For amps I'd reccomend the SWR 1x15 combo but I can't remember if they still offer it. For basses I have always liked standard fenders but I can't really help you on that one because about a year ago I bought a Fender American Deluxe five string so I havn't really been looking at all the new stuff.
  14. its just like playing a regular guitar except the strings are doubled and the spaceing is slightly larger. i was able to switch back and forth with little to no problems. Tuning is actually quite easy. You tune it the same way as a six string except you tune in pairs. Ee, Aa, Dd, Gg......and so on. I don't have any expierience with that guitar personally but it looks fairly decent for the price.
  15. Normally in this situation you would have to finish the break and seperate the headstock from the rest of the neck and then glue the two peices back together. If done correctly it should be stronger than it was originally.
  16. I vote that you fill the space and paint it. And as for the binding I don't really know how to go about fixing that but if you can make it look good i think the extra large binding could look pretty cool.
  17. Yeah. If you have got access to it why not? It's worth a shot. Worst case scenario you get a body or a neck you don't like and you get to make another one.
  18. That's better but I would say go back to the other headstock design. I think it flows with the body better.
  19. small peices of wood or veneer. or you could you a colored epoxy.
  20. I would shorten the back horns somewhat. they look too long and kind of throw off the design.
  21. I have one. Got it about 2 years ago. If you get the chance to buy one, do it im telling you. They are the best thing ever. I have dropped this thing so many times with a guitar in it and the guitar hasn't even gone out of tune. The pockets are great and the padded shoulder straps are amazingly comfortable.
  22. It should work, but if your going to use it i would also install locking tuners.
  23. I would make the controls more in line with the point.
