  1. Hey yeah the schematics don't seem the same as the Duncans/Dimarzios I looked at installing and kinda wish I had gone with. Then again I think I should have got some more knowhow under my belt before trying to do this. The multimeter, I didn't get, will have to look into getting one, just brought a soldering iron and jumped right in. (Prepares self for flaming lol) Cheers lads I'll let you know how things go.
  2. Hey, I got the connectors on all the way. Just a case of bad planning. Now the sund is perfectly clear, but when I go straight to my amp with it, its not driving the amp, the overdrive channel, although it has full gain, which works with my duncan equipped jackson, is almost completely clean. I'm thinking this may have been too big a project to do for a newbie?
  3. Hey, just tried switching it round the other way and it still doesn't go all on, and doesn't sound completely right. Though it is only about a millimetre away from going on completely. The distortion still isn't right and it still buzzes when I touch the pickup itself or any of the mounting screws.
  4. Hey daft question, which ways do the connectors go on the back on the pickups, they seem to go on either way. With the 85, which seems hte problem pickup, it doesnt go all the way on, and I'm unsure about forcing it
  5. Hey, I just finished installing my EMG 81/85 into my westfield les paul. But when I play through my amp, the sound keeps cutting, wont play with any gain whatsoever and when I touch the 85, which is in bridge position, it buzzes. It was my first installation, so I'm completely at aloss to what is wrong. Any suggestions?
  6. Hey, seems to make sense to me. Just two more q's: - With this being a coil split and mine not. Would it mean that as opposed to the push pull switch being wired to the red and white wires, I just solder them together much the same as the neck pu? - What is the ground pooint in an SG? Or will it be marked?
  7. Hey, gonna sound a real n00b here...But what would the ground point be in an SG? I hear in a strat its the back of the bridge but don't know about SG's Bobby
  8. Thanks Nitefly, what about the HOT and GROUND wires? Sorry this is my first time and I can't seem to find any decent tutorials on the motherbucker. If it helps they are blue and black. Bobby
  9. Hey, I've just ordered a set of Mighty Mite Motherbuckers for my SG. Just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for some schematics. I have been on the Mighty Mite site, but not quite clear on which wires go where. Ie two wires get soldered together but it doesn't show where they go from there..... Any pointers? 10. Hey, nah no reverb, not an over effects man, myself. I guess I'll have to make do, as the settings I have are the only way I can get the sound I like.
  11. Can't be the amp, it's a peavey 100, and its only turned up to a quarter volume. The gain aint up that far on the pedal, only enough to get a good sound. So no idea. Bobby
  12. Hey thanks all, the feedback stops when I dampen the strings as far as I know to. Can't turn down teh amp though coz I have to keep up with one loud drummer lol. Yeah it is MD-2 I got, very nice pedal, does its job really well, especially when you step to it from a zoom 606. I hear the MT-2 is good, but haven't heard one yet. Bobby
  13. Hey, I don't put gain on the amp, all done through the trusty boss md-2 pedal. It seems that this is the prob sometimes, as if I'm standing too close to the amp, even when its 10-15 feet away.
  14. Hey, I have bought a neck for my project guitar which is a 22 fret kramer copy. Only problem is the project guitar is a 21 fret neck. I'm not sure whether the new one will fit into it. So if it doesn't, any tips on changing the neck pocket to suit? Thanks Bobby MSN> xbonez@blueyonder.co.uk
  15. Hey, sorry I took so long to reply. Its sort of high pitched, but not massively high pitched. How else can I tell if i need to pot them? Just to be certain Bobby
