  1. thank you for the reply where can i obtain mineral spirits? thanks
  2. ever since i cleaned my c7's fretboard with 0000 steel wool and lemon oil it has never felt the same. It has some very unwanted friction on the fretboard making bends a pain because my fingers stick to the fretboard. I tried letting the fretboard dry out for two weeks and nothing happened. I also tried fender fretboard conditioner and nothing. I also tried finger ease but that is just a temporary solution. I swear before i cleaned the fretboard it had like a nice glossy coat on top, now it is just dark rosewood. anybody know what i can do to revive it? I want my fretboard to feel slick again. thanks
  3. ok i think it is because the wood is still alittle damp from the oiling. I think i went alittle overboard with the oil.
  4. hey everybody. On my schecter i lightly sanded my frets with a very fine sanding sponge. I then applied dunlop lemon oil to it twice. It looks healthy and dark but the problem is the fretboard doesn't have that nice feel to it anymore. My fingers dont slide on the fretboard like they used to. What i mean is before i sanded the fretboard it was like it had some sort of finish on it(wax maybe?) that made my fingers slide really easy on it. Now my fingers get kind of get stuck on it. I know i should have probably used steel wool but i have used the same sanding sponge on other rosewood fretboards and i didn't even have to apply oil to them after in order for my fingers to slide easily across the board. any tips/solutions greatly appreciated. Thanks
  5. very nice i have been wanting a hardtail RG for a while now. I wanted to trade my rg270dx for the rg321 but i tested a 321 yesterday and damn did it ever feel like crap compared to my 270. Interesting because mine is an older model (96-99) made in korea and the new 321 in made in Indonesia Anyway, great looking build
  6. Yes...spray eveything on the neck except for the fingerboard playing surface. good that answers alot of my problem Thanks Cliff
  7. ok say your at the stage where your guitar is painted and ready for clearcoat... My question is, it is normal to spray the fret binding right? I think this is why i screwed up the finish on my previously "refinished" guitar. when i got my guitar back you could feel a solid line where the paint was then feel the uneven binding. Wouldn't it have been the right thing to spray the clear on the binding along with the entire neck to make the final finish feel smooth and blended around the neck and binding? Thanks
  8. That's disgusting Welcome to the boards Slay. thanks guys
  9. yeah i think i found another luthier who will check it out if it's over my budget ill be doing it myself.
  10. thanks guys i appreciate the info here are some pics of what im dealing with (mostly due to my stupidity) i did the same thing at canadian tire, i found there regular supply in the hardware section but never ventured over to the auto section.
  11. probably after sanding it out of frustration and trying to buff it again. i need somebody who can fix it (not letting me do any work because if i do i will turn it into a mess) and we can work out a deal when i was givin the guitar back i was told to rub this compound with a fibre cloth and i had to rub very hard to get rid of the peel and blend in the paint. (it obviously didn't work for me)
  12. my beloved guitar is in a mess. I want it to look new again. long story short: i made a mistake on my neck and tried to fix it myself and i failed. Took it to a luthier who made it look decent but then i ran into the problem of buffing through the coat of paint he put on when i was trying to polish it. Im located in Toronto and do not feel like shipping it out anywhere. Please send me a message if you can help me out
  13. Thanks for the link Wes i will look into him thought i would post pics of what im dealing with
