  1. Hi, i own a Greco bass, LP style. It features triple humbuckers, with individual EQ knobs. Gotoh Tuning heads and what seems to be a Maple neck with rosewood fretboard. Serial Number is B 029489 Made in Japan I just want to know what the year is and its approximate value. It plays great already, but could do with a brief setup service. EDIT: I know its made in japan because it says so on the back of top of the neck. It is printed on in a light grey along with serial number. Hope that helps EDIT 2: I have not made any modifications to the bass, it was bought second hand and seems to be all stock apart from the tuners.
  2. Thanks guys, ive found a store in the us that are able to ship to Australia. But ill definitely check out those handmade ones in Adelaide.
  3. Yeah, Thanks. I figured it wouldn't do any harm getting an f-spaced bridge pickup.
  4. okay, Ive been told that it will work with an original Ibanez edge trem, lo pro edge trem, or edge pro trem. And that Ibanez RG 24 fret, all access neck joint necks will work perfect. "My favorite necks to use are RG 550 and 570 necks." A friend of mine actually gave me the website when he made one of his jems. which i have seen, and its pretty impressive. So im gonna start an old topic up again, f-spaced? f-spaced is for Floyd rose and Fender bridges. so do ibanez floating trems need to have f-spaced pickups?
  5. of course, those prices are both in AU. i actually just came back from japan where the exchange rate was ridiculous. it was round about 1au = 52yen, compared to last years exchange, 1au = 94yen.
  6. lol, i think putting together the guitar is going to be hard enough.
  7. Pearle guitars do some seriously good paint jobs and there bodies are pretty good, and are a lot cheaper. link: http://www.perleguitars.com/index.html He specializes in those custom swirl paint jobs, my friend bought one of his jem replacement bodies. They are pretty awsome in person, but they need a proffessional finish. Ive asked for no paint, so i can make some "changes" to the body. And my uncle is a pro car sprayer (perfectionist) and my other uncle is a craftsman (anything, tables, chairs ect.) So i got some stuff sorted out. Im gonna try and kinda make it look like paul gilberts fireman, with the clear coat but with two humbuckers instead of 3 single coils. One FRED DP 153 on the neck and a Tone Zone DP 155 on the bridge. But about the tremolo, i really dont mind, i barely use the tremolo on my 89 fender. Do fixed bridges really make much difference to the sound? could anyone one recommend one? One big problem i have currently: f spaced or standard spacing for the pickups. And because i dont have the bridge yet, i cant say... so kinda need a good bridge recommendation pls. Thanks
  8. Thanks for trying guys, but how do i know what the tax is that there going to make me pay on import? cause it doesnt mention anything like that on ebay. I know most of my friends have a actually bought new guitars instead of just upgrading the pickups because it can equal the same amount, especially with Strats. Yeah, i guess ill try and ring a few places up and keep looking. Thanks again, Jules
  9. Ive been looking around at various sites and have found pearleguitars for the body. But i need a neck that would fit, and a good bridge. Could anyone recommend someone for the neck and a good bridge. Ive been looking at just getting a non-tremolo bridge (budget), so ive been looking at those ibanez fixed edge. Advice anyone?
  10. Hi, i live in Australia and nearly all the eBay sites that have DiMarzio pickups are not allowed to ship to Australia. Ive found one that has ONE of the pickups i need (FRED DP153), but not a tone zone DP 155. There way overpriced in Australia, about 179 each. While in America there around 100. Is anyone able to help me out with this? Thanks
