    thanks for the link, very helpful actually im starting to think a locking nut might be too much trouble to install so i might get a graph tech one instead

    ok the nut that came with my guitar is totally off-center so im replacing it with a floyd rose locking nut. but the current one is slotted into a groove on the fretboard. how do I remove it? and do I need to fill the groove before I attach the new one? i really have no idea how to do this so any help is much appreciated. thanks.
