  1. A purple back would be too much for this, you wouldn't want to take away from the beauty that's already there!
  2. Leave the forum and go to the regular project guitar site, there's a tutorial there on how to do a graphic finish. http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/mat.htm
  3. Padauk neck for sure, FB you could get creative with, but nicely contrasting wood dots with one fancy wood one at the 12th sounds appropriate.
  4. I would make a jig for use with a router for the parts of the same distance, but its kind of hard to think of how to do it with the varying distances. I think stewmac sells one for binding that might give you inspiration on how to make one.
  5. Just stay away from the crappy expertvillage ones.
  6. A spear headstock would look sweet as well, just make it extra pointy and find something that looks like stone.
  7. This is only part of it, the rest are just like this, all leading to the buss which they give you, the buss has a spot for the batter to connect to as well as spots for everything else.
  8. Checks your camera's flash and white balance settings, they can work wonders inside. Try to use the fluorescent WB with a rear flash setting.
  9. This is what they sent me, it is solderless except to the input jack (I think). If you don't have them like this, contact customer service. All of the wires go to a buss, which go to the output jack, again, not sure if there's a quick connector to that, but I don't think so.
  10. If you do receive one of the older ones without the quick connectors on the pots, send an email to customer service and they send you a free set of quick connect pots and controls.
  11. Go to the wiring diagrams tab under the support section on the left, select browse then a list of diagram pdf's comes up, I don't understand how anything could be under construction.
  12. They do come with all solderless parts needed to complete the install.
  13. Check the instructions on their site, they can be über informative.
  14. The animals are sweet... without them it would just be "another explorer copy".
  15. I think "sweet" would be an appropriate word.
  16. It might be worth it to ask EMG tech support that, they are very helpful people. They sent me a solderless kit (pots, buss, battery clip) for free because I bought an older stock 81TW with hardwired pots.
  17. I got a 12" to match the speedloader, they actually sent me it separate with the standard size one also. It fits on my pre-radiused stewmac board pretty well.
  18. I looked it up in the past, I'll have to again to be sure, but if I remember it was a 2005 MIM Stratocaster with either electron blue metallic or royal blue metallic paint. I'll look it up and post pics tomorrow, where's the easiest site to host photos for here?
  19. My MIM strat has a 1/4 x 3/4 inch chip on the back down to the wood. It looks exactly like the guitar of the month except much smaller and on the back round near the strap button. How do I fix this, should I buy some automotive touch-up paint, layer it on thin, then super glue drop-fill it, then sand it down flush? Fender states that the finish on these are made of polyester, so I didn't think lacquer would be the best for a drop-fill. Since it's on the back, the color doesn't really have to match, but I couldn't find a tutorial on how to do this repair when the color has been removed with the clear-coat chip. Thanks in advance, Reinhold
  20. I got an r5 nut by going to a local shop that was in contact with Floyd Rose and had them order it for me (I also got a speedloader unit.) The whole thing ended up being much cheaper than buying it online.
  21. And according to the EMG install guide, it also creates a shock hazard to connect the two.
