  1. Will do. any idea on how much plasti kote i'll need to buy? Currently bit worried about the handle, it is RIGHT next to...as in REALLY close to the edge of the scratchplate... would it be worth making my own.. we'll see...
  2. Yes seriously lol. i kinda found this website afterwards lmao. it was a behach too, cains when tht paint gets in your eye. but yeh if u can manage to get the knife under the paint you could take huge amounts of it off in one go, was slow but effective. ty. will keep posted, even if it goes wrong lol.
  3. hey,i'm new here and i just thought id let you know what im planning. since i'm a 17 year old who's too lazy to get a job, i can't affor an Ibanez Jem (suprisingly) so i decided i'd make one lol. but yeh i realized it will turn out nothing like a jem, but it might turn out interesting all the same, i picked up a nice strat clone for £30 from a randomn junk shop, ripped out the electrics (they were fried anyhowz), took off all the paint (with a butter knife *cries*) and drilled/cut a monkey grip style handle, k so its not perfect but it looks like this at the moment. I am planning to swirl it red and black along with swirled scratchplate/pickguard...maybe trem arm too? (soon as ive practised a few hundred times...the paint was harsh to get off before lol) chrome hardware (pickup covers, knobs, switch tip etc) not too sure bout what electrics yet...looking into these onboard effect things (didn't know they existed)..Also i am thinking bout inlaying a razorblade into the fifth fret. thats bout all so far...taking one step at a time, IMO the handle still needs a lot of shaping/sanding. So yeh, what ya think so far? first effort, complete bodge job with limited tools....don't be too brutal *hides*
  4. hey, i was wondering since the tutorials dont make it very clear, what you have to do if you only want to do one inlay.in my case on the 5th fret. also i've read the pyramid 3d inaly where something is put into the cut shape, then covered with epoxy. would i be able to do this with a razorblade? or is it too thick? just completely wouldnt work?
