  1. I'm using that... but anyway, tomorrow I'm buying the components for F/R and forget the problems. And yes, I'm trying it with a little 8 ohm speaker, and it sounds good. A bit distorted but good.
  2. I'm having some troubles with my little-gem amp. It works for a few seconds, but the IC overheats and the circuit stops working. It works again once cooled. What can be the problem? It seems that there's no short-circuit (I've checked several times) but I think the 10 ohm resistor is too low although I don't know much about it.
  3. Nice to see that you remember me First I tried to make the driver using this magnets I didn't succeed after several attempts, so I left the project... Then I found that great site and I realized how easy was to build the sustainer from a normal pickup, so I tried to get one. I bought a kit from StewMac at last... That's not you is it? If not, I guess we will be seeing some more visitors soon. No, it's not me What did you pot it in PVA? Sorry, I don't understand the question :S (English is not my mother language) That's how my project is right now: I know I've got to protect better the coil I am also having some problems charging the magnets, any tip on it? or just keep on trying until achieving the same power as a factory pickup? I've got to add the pots and repair a broken wire, but that's it. My main problem to finish it all is that I only have one guitar, so any thing I can make can only be a proof of concept. I hope I can buy a project guitar soon.
  4. so it has to be adjusted one time, right? That's what I meant, it's not necessary to have any extra knob in the guitar for the gain Thanks
  5. Hi, I'm trying to build the sustainer from the info contained here. First, I made the driver but my coil has near 7'5ohm in stead of 8ohm, is it bad? should I recoil it again (for the 5th time lol)? Now, I've just built the little-gem amp from here, but I have some doubts. What's the real use of the gain pot? is there any problem if I just use a pcb pot and hide it inside the guitar (in order to not to use it)? Sorry if it was said before, but I can't read all the topic. There was a time when I followed it, but it has grown a lot since that
  6. I though so I was going to buy one in ebay but I don't want to modify my guitar nowadays. I'm trying to do the trem cavity by CAD in order to a "luthier" (guitar builder, sorry my english) make me this modification. Does anybody have the distance between the centre of the posts an the maximum long of the cavity?? Thanks PD: And what posts are not compatible? The female ones or the males? PD2: I joined a day after you xDDD
  7. I'm going to buy an Ibanez Edge but i have to know if I don't need to modify my guitar. I think the problem should be the long of trem route. Answer quickly please. Thanks
  8. Great job Pete! Well, I have some little neodimium magnets and I tried to round a coil in it, but I think I need a little amp, don't I? Is there a way to try it without doing an amp or whithout conecting it to the pickup's?
  9. Where can I buy these magnetics by internet? This summer I'm going to try to do one but first I need the magnetics.
