  1. Ummm... a ruler. Sorry don't mean to be a jerk. But really that is it. No offense taken. I was thinking the same thing just use a ruler and line em up. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't anything else to it. \m/
  2. Another question about installing. A long time ago I installed some grover tuners on a headstock that didn't have the screw holes already drilled. I was 17 and wasn't very particular about how I lined up the keys. I ended up with some of the keys a little crooked. What is the best way of making sure I dont have crooked tuning keys?
  3. That's what I thought. thanks!
  4. Ok here is another question. Staggard tuning keys. Which strings need the shorter posts? I had one squire strat back in the 80's but I bought it used and it had a Kahler locking trem on it so I never had a use for the string tree. The replacement neck I have has no string tree and I was considering buying staggard tuning keys. the site I saw them at said you use the shorter posts for the A and E (high E). When I look at pics of Fender headstocks I see string trees for the C,G and B,E strings...sometimes just the B and E. I'm confused.
  5. The guitar that had neck replaced was an Ovation Ultra GS. I came across a Chandler neck and had it put on by my local guitar store. This was back in the late 80's. I believe he put a shim in there between the heel and pocket. I would have to pull that guitar out and look at it.
  6. Yes. it is good. Yaay! All I need now are some tuning keys, trem, neck plate, bolts, jack, jack plate and strap pins. Going to try setting it up too. This will be quite the project for me.
  7. Greetings all! My first post here and I'm hoping it's a pretty easy one to answer. I have a Strat copy body. I bought an aftermarket neck and it fits very snugly into the pocket. It's not lose one bit. Is this good? This is my first real project guitar. I have only done one neck replacement in my life (been playing for 25+ years) and I actually had a pro put it on for me and he had to shim it. That was ages ago and my memory is fuzzy.
