  1. i have the same issue with my crate blue voodoo half stack. changed tubes, biased, different cabs...all that stuff. the other guitarist in my band uses a 5150. his colume stays around the 3-4 range. mine is up in the 7 area. i also played with some one with a 5150 combo...which is 60 watts and it was the same story. i have no idea what the problem is. i think its just dependant on the different amp manufacturers... -RAF
  2. hey guys. im having a problem. i just installed some duncan live wires into my guitar but the neck doesnt seem to work. it seems like its not getting any power from the battery, but i checked every connection and it all looks fine. the bridge pup works perfect...its just the neck one thats having trouble. if i crank the amp i can barely hear it. i followed the instructions that came with the set perfectly and everything lines up and is connected well. any one know how to fix it or what the problem is? thanks guys. -RAF
  3. kool thanks man. now does any one know any one who would do that for me in the orlando florida area? thanks... -RAF
  4. hey guys. i am sorry for posting this cuz im sure its been answered on here before, but i couldnt find it using the search function.(i searched fro dead fret and didnt know what else it could be under) any way...i got this ibanez sz720 and it has a fret that dies out only when i play that fret on the g string (the third fret dies out or sounds the same as the fourth fret). i know the most obvious thing to do would be to pull the fret and put in a new one, at least its obvious to me, but i dont have the skill to do that yet. is there any other way to get this to sound right? maybe file down the fourth fret a little bit? i guess its not that big a deal since its only that one spot but i like that fret and that string. any help you guys could give i would really appreciate. thanks... -RAF
  5. a regular old speaker cable works fine. i had a cheap one for a while but when i started playin at higher volumes i went out and got a 5" planet waves speaker cable. had that thing for a while...no problems. -RAF
  6. Hey nevermind i got it done. Thanks. -RAF
  7. Hey my effects loop on my crate bluevoodoo bv120h is broken. can any one walk me through fixing it or know where i can get information to fix it? im not to thrilled with the idea of sending it to crate to get it fixed due to shiping charges and such. thanks. -RAF
  8. ok im a little lost about this fused together thing also. humbuckers are one pickup not 2. do u mean that the humbucker has a cover over it? -RAF
  9. im usin a duncan invader in the bridge and a duncan jazz in the neck and i play metal. i think they sound excellent. and for my next project im goin with a duncan jazz neck and a jb bridge, but im not tryin to get metal tones out of that one...i like duncans. -RAF
  10. with that bridge i would say 1/8" back, but wait for some one else to reply. I have never had any personal experience with that bridge. -RAF
  11. ya new tubes really only help if the ones u have are shot. and mine are fine for now. i was just wondering if any one knew exactly what I would have to change in terms of electronics within the amp to tighten up the lows. just curious. -RAF
  12. i really just want it to have a tighter, more defined low end and be a lot quieter in terms of excess noise. what tubes do you use in yours? and i agree....i love BV's.....truely incredible amps. -RAF
  13. MOJO that is seriously an incredible guitar. I am obsessed with sharks and I am in school to study them currently. I wich I woulda thought of that when I built my 7-string. But simply incredible.... -RAF
  14. does any one know anything about modifying crate blue voodoos? i have read that they r pretty easy to mod and i have some experience with these kinds of things but not enough to be confident in taking apart my main amp without getting some guidance and advice first. i was looking into installing a noise suppressor into it and maybe changing out some of the capacitors and tube distributors to higher voltage ones. and maybe making some mods to make it sound better, but i dont really know where to start on that area. thanks. -RAF
