Which genre does Tool fall into? And what about The Mars Volta? HELP ME!

I'm into heavier guitars... not good for my back though... I'm only 16, I might have problems later. I say... 9 1/2 pounds...

yeah? I've just never seen it... so maybe it would look weird... I'm still tinking it would look cool all cream and then the other chrome... the uneven look... but right now I don't mind it, it's just a bit too uneven if you know what I mean. I sent an email to seymour duncan (website), if I don't get reply, I'll call.

yes, the problem is I'd want cream. White would look very out of place on my guitar. I'm thinking of just getting another zebra pickup for the other one... but I'd get reverse zebra so they don't do that symmetrical thing... they would both be going in the same direction. I don't know if that would make it look better or not.... If you had a cream JB, which don't exist, I'd gladly pay for shipping... I'm in Burlington Ontario... but it's white, thanks for the offer anyways. and yeah, I would think it would be pretty pricey to switch a whole bobbin, but it would be cool to probably be the only person to have a cream JB.

yeah, thanks guys. I don't think I'll do it... too much work. Yes, latte was my favourite colour... rare too. The pic of it on the Gibson site makes it look very ugly too... I've only seen one of these, I wonder what the other latte's look like.

I changed a pickup in my Les Paul, and it's a Zebra Seymour Duncan... http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v215/Sob...nt=P1010031.jpg My question is, if I bought another pickup, the exact same one, just in reverse Zebra, could I pull the cream plastic piece off that and replace that black one and have a cream coloured JB? How possible is that? I'd then put the black with the black and use it on a different guitar... Thanks.

Yeah, he might mean overwound. But I do realize that it's not just the pickups. I was just wondering, because I have a spare JB sitting around. Is it possible to overwind a pickup like that? Would it be easy?

Thanks, but I saw him play onstage, and he uses the volume control quite a bit. And a whole song is played with the tone all the way down... so that can't be possible. Darn, I'm not gonna be able to talk to this guy again either, I met him in Jamaica. Thanks anyways.

Hi guys. I have a Seymour Duncan JB SH-4, and I was wondering if I could get it hot-wired... how is this possible? I asked someone briefly about their pickups and how they get their sound, and he said his pickup is hot-wired. His pickup was a '59 model though... Can anyone help me? Thanks guys. P.S. I also tried a google search about actually hot-wired pickups... all I seem to get are tips on stealing pickup trucks...

I was thinking of making a ring modulator and putting it in my guitar, and adjusting the speed with a pot... they sound so weird when you do that... I'll just use my Line 6 MM4 for that (with a Exp pedal of course)

Ok, thanks guys... I guess it's not a good idea... it won't affect it much. I was just wondering because I wanted to make it extra-unique... whatever. I have a non-angled headstock, so it'd be tricky for the veneer aswell. Thanks again

I've heard the term ebonizing which is to make another type of wood look like ebony. I was planning on making a new body for my guitar and putting the rest of the stuff I have on my newly built guitar, on the new one (the better one). I am planning on whitewashing the body in a way, so it still looks like wood, but it's white. But I need to know if this will work. I have an ebony neck, and I need to know if the back and headstock (maple) will "ebonize" with the black stain to match the fingerboard. Does anyone know if it will work? Does anyone think I'm nuts or stupid? Thanks.

Hi, does anyone know where one could find those Blue LED lights that you can put on your amp. My amp has a red cover over the light right now, but I really want blue. I've been searching around aswell, googling... can't find one. If anyone knows, I'd really appreciate it if you told me. Thanks. P.S. I tried a search, but I find this search option to be pretty bad.
