  1. How many different necks can you have? 6 String 12 String 6 Fretless 7 String Baritone Bari Fretless That's 6, and that's all I can come up with.
  2. Man, that finish looks great dude. Amazing job!
  3. Those are great looking! You should upload some sound clips. Oh, and what happened to that real nice alder one?
  4. That's reallyyyy nice. It reminds me of an Alembic with the pointy body and all the laminates.
  5. I really like the slightly asymmetrical f-holes. Pulls it all together. Man, I can't wait to see this finished.
  6. Oooh, so what kinda pickups are going in it?
  7. Is it a bass or a guitar!? The pickup routes are confusing. J in the bridge, humbucker in the neck. MAKE UP YO' MIND! But yeah, I like it, a lot.
  8. I know Ibanez has a couple basses made out of some synthetic materials, and Gibson has a "Smartwood" series which is also some form of something that's not actually wooden.
  9. Don't do it, you'll end up probably not doing anything with the project. I tried something similar, and the body just looked ugly and really small afterwards.
  10. That looks really cool, but holy rat's nest in the wiring...
  11. Yes! I think that looks much better than before. The body doesn't look NEARLY as huge.
  12. Nice looking, but that body looks kinda like an S series moreso than an RG. The horns aren't quite as pointy.
  13. My favorite is number 5, but you need another bright-ish color in there other than white, I think.
  14. Deathmetal bass? You should string it up BEAD so you can fill that low range up even more. Or if you're REALLY daring, string it up like some Warwick I saw that was strung F#BEA
  15. You'd have to make sure not too make the wave on the bass too large, though, or else you may have problems as far as bridge and neck height go. It's a pretty good idea though, just a suggestion though, extend the wave a little more toward the bridge so that there's a better range of spots to play along.
  16. +1 I don't get it, what's wrong with it? I don't spot any blatant problems...
  17. Since we're on the topic of different bracing sounds, has anyone ever experimented with alternate materials for bracing, such as metals or things like that?
  18. I think the reason it looks wrong to me is because the bevels are missing, and I've only ever seen beveled SGs.
  19. I think you're being WAYYYYY too picky. I can't even tell that it's off at all in either of those pictures.
  20. the only company i know of that gets upset by using inspiration from their designs is Gibson. And, luckily, they only go after the bigger guys... or in the latest case, really really short midgetty fellas that live in hot cities But, Jackson is now Fender, so i imagine things will change soon, Fender are ruthless... Yeh? That's why there's copies of Fenders everywhere? Unless you were being sarcastic...
  21. Just lower the saddles and deepen the grooves of the nut and that should lower the action, no?
  22. Two inches is about the normal size. I don't think a Gotoh would work with a one inch body...
  23. Just throw some keys at it and take some sandpaper to the area where your forearm rests. Voila.
  24. It needs something... I think you should add a dark red burst around the edge with the dye, just another coat or two, something subtle.
